Microsoft: $101 BILLION in profits. $12.5 BILLION in tax breaks. $176 BILLION in stock buybacks. 4,800 workers fired this week. 9,000 workers fired last year. Please don't tell me trickle-down economics works. It never did. Nothing trickles down.

Imagine waking up tomorrow and every billionaire vanished. Most people would still go to work. Food would still be grown. Roads would still be built. Hospitals would still operate. Now imagine every worker vanished. That's the difference between wealth and value.

Yes lockdown was really tough for kids. Lots of those kids are teenagers now so maybe as a thank you our establishments could stop deliberately making even more things worse for them due to a weird systemic hatred of our own youth

Labour: We’re going to end rough sleeping in the UK Also Labour: We’re not going to introduce any controls over how much a landlord can charge people for the use of their property. Great. Thanks. 👍👍 I’ll stick with the Green Party. You can join here: join.greenparty.org.uk

Angela Rayner says the govt won't be introducing rent controls because they can lead to higher rents.

Hunt: "We've grown much wealthier as a country since the 80s" 1970s Britain owned its utilities, millions of council houses, had a huge oil/gas reserve & a national debt of £80bn. Now? No assets & £2.9tn national debt We havent got richer. Jeremy & his mates have at our expense

Its funny how everyone's idea of heaven is a complete untouched paradise, crystal clear waters, lush green forests, enough food for everyone, classless, moneyless, stateless, a Utopia of peace, unity and happiness. But here on earth it's considered a leftist ideology.

"On August 6th, Farage is going to have to actively prove to voters that he's better than a garage bin" US news are now making fun of Nigel Farage vs Count Binface in Clacton

A whole-ass A5 flyer, double sided, full colour, from Royal Mail….just to say that their cheapest delivery service is going to be less frequent 🤦 I must have missed the flyer ahead of all their other services turning to absolute dogshit.

A flyer from Royal Mail explaining that their 2nd class service will now drop down to delivery every two weekdays, with none at weekends.Bild

Here's what the landlord lobby don't want you to know: If rents went down by 20%, renters would save £2400 a year. The government would save £2 billion a year. And landlords would still make 4.5 times as much profit as the average business.

Polanski welcomes report showing "scare stories" about rent controls false and how they could slash poverty and save government billions

I've seen on the streets how powerful even the idea of rent controls are that give people so much hope! Pleasure this morning to help launch a report by the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose and the New Economics Foundation into making them a reality.

Rent controls would save households up to £2,400 a year and the Government £2 billion a year. It's a no-brainer. But only the Green Party has a policy to introduce them.

No, Thames Water, it’s not due to the “hot weather”. It’s because your infrastructure is absolute ass. Because you take all our money and use it to pay out dividends instead of FIXING YOUR FUCKING PIPES.

Fully agree with Dan here. We have a moral responsibility to stop being an island of insufferable bastards, we have a debt we should repay (but probably never will), and we really need to grow out of this mentality that it’s someone else’s fault.

Assimilation and integration are a two way thing. This is a modern country that ran a vast colonial empire and is integrated into the world economy. There’s an inherent duty to accept others.

Manchester Evening News review of the first Mayor debate is in - and Geraldine Coggins, Green Party candidate has the highest score! 💚🎉 Labour has let down Greater Manchester. It's time for a Green Mayor.

Coggins was a confident voice on the panel and was clearly popular with the audience and at ease. Her framing of the debate was consistent throughout. Labour has let down Greater Manchester overall while building up the city centre with economic deals that have not benefited the wider city region. Her argument that it was time for a change from Labour will have resonated with some of the left leaning audience members.

Nigel Farage has failed people in Clacton. Im certain I've done more work than him in the four months I've been here than he's done in two years. People in Clacton deserve so much more than this shameful stunt.
