My dad loved country and took me to see the greats before I was old enough to appreciate it. When I saw Dolly, I was just happy she sang "Coat of Many Colors." I've read so much about her the last 2 days, but this one broke me at the line about dedicating the book to her father. A perfect tribute.

The decision overturns the will of voters for technical reasons and gives Republicans a leg up for the 2026 midterms.
"Sixty-seven percent think Trump doesn’t carefully consider important decisions." The other 33% didn't carefully consider the answer to this question.

I know the point is to confuse us and hope for low turnout, but only the House primaries have been cancelled. Voting on the amendments, Senate, and other elections is still May 16th, with early voting starting tomorrow.

Why are we even focusing on the distraction of whether or not he will actually donate it to charity? That's irrelevant. It's not his to donate. This is our money, and the president cannot just decide to award it to himself.

We just got our letters. We're self employed, so we have to purchase our own insurance. Between loss of subsidy and increased premiums, our insurance is going from $1330/mo to $2438/mo, with increased deductibles and copays. That's 16k/yr to >29K/yr. This isn't sustainable. Who can afford this?

More than corruption, all the cancelled research in every sector is the very definition of waste. It's billions of $$$ & years of time/expertise lost, that will cost us more than money. It leads to a lower quality of life for all of us as the US gives up it's role as the leader in new technologies.

Great stuff here from @wired.com. I continue to be amazed at how niche press (Wired, Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue) has managed to become the face of this sort of reporting and organising while the mainstream media has done worse than failing.
