Somehow even though they showed almost nothing, the Zelda thing was somehow all red flags. Deku tree voiced by a 30 year old twitter VA pretending to be old? Check. Link's outfit covered in busy Hollywood fairy greebles? Check. Unnecessary melodrama framing? Check. It's gonna be soooooo ass.
Don't get me wrong, I still think this is the wrong direction for SF overall, and I have far more concerns beyond just how it LOOKS. But I'm really trying to be minimalistic / change as little as possible to show how easily you could make this at least -look- OK.
Slippy's more subtle. Nose is too bulbous, lips are too thick and mouth lacks shape, nostrils ill-defined, eye masses aren't confident, hands are too small. All the little things. Death by 1000 papercuts. I just don't know how things like this ship without someone fixing this stuff in paint overs.
IDK, I'm stupid but all I ask is that they put in that last 10% and give a shit. I need ya'll to understand it's not the inherent Idea of realism its the lack of care for proportion, shape, appeal, and character. These designs are garbage.
New StarFox is heinous in more ways than I can really describe. We'll be referring to this as "StarFox '26" with the tonal disdain of "Sonic '06" before to long. Now I'm also concerned it may look that way because the movie is going to look like that, too.

Having played more of the back half of SilkSong, I'd actually argue that ( beginning none withstanding ) SilkSong is an -easier- game than the first HK. Hornet has so many more defensive and offensive options available, I've been chewing through the late game bosses. + The map is easier to navigate.
To be clear if like, the tweaks as released were kind of where it stopped I would not really be up in arms, I'm just spooked about the pressure encouraging continued changes. Really really enjoying the game, still workin' on the alt ending so not done yet! Lot's of side stuff to do.
God fucking damnit they're already announcing balance tweaks to SilkSong, fuck right off I hate you whiners, this game's balance is so engaging. I hate this modern discourse of complain bombing games you feel entitled to playing and undermining the confidence of the developer's original intent.
