Instagram slamming a "made with ai" label on people's real art is terrible. Having an imperfect detector is one thing, but what if it's something more sinister? If generated content can't be copyrighted, does this label help people get away with stealing people's art?

Mixam are a super cheap print site that I use frequently- They've just added a mature content setting that's phrased as "..content including, but not limited to, the following..." which makes me think "if one of our staff just doesn't like your vibe we won't print your stuff"

Check out the steaming pile of AI garbage that just won $1,000 first prize in the Ohio State Fair poster contest. It's especially tragic since the 5th place, drawn by an actual human, is great. Rooster (OH fair has biggest poultry show in US) riding the "butter cow" (exactly what it sounds like).

Yeah.. don't draw new work for cover art competitions: If you're good enough to win a published comic cover, then you should be spending that time figuring out why you aren't ALREADY DOING covers. Sort your portfolio out, learn basic marketing/promotion, build contacts, draw something viral.

Every few years a comic company repeats the mistake of holding a contest for artists to "win" a gig, in this case it's Ghostmachine's cover contest. "Submit 3-6 samples of cover art featuring Ghost Machine Characters. . ." Some people see opportunity. Experienced pros see a scam. 1/8
