#TopShelfFriday What's a comicbook in your collection that you think deserves to be on that top shelf? 💚 This week: celebrating Spidey with the very recently released Spectacular Spider-Man: Brand New Day #1 with the Patrick Gleason 1:100 variant cover. #comicbooks #comics

a photograph of a comic book placed on top of a wooden table. The comic book is Spectacular Spider-Man Brand New Day issue #1. The comic book's cover has no trade logos or text. It's shows a drawing of Peter Parker as Spider-Man from the waist-up. Peter is a white man with brown hair. He's wearing the classic red and blue Spider-Man suit, and is holding the mask in his hands in front of his chest. Peter is looking up and the right. Behind Peter, the background is a graffiti-like drawing of Spidey's mask, with the large white eyes outlined in black.

After all these years, you surely know that I'm a man of my word -- and I give you my word: from this night forward, Kraven the Hunter -- will never hunt again.
—Kraven the Hunter to Spider-Man

If you’re around my age and interested in music since your teens, you probably at some point watched MTV’s 120 Minutes. Show creator and host Dave Kendall passed away yesterday. KEXP DJ John in the Morning is doing a tribute show today—listen live or in the 2-week streaming archive at kexp.org.

Clip from the KEXP real-time playlist showing the listing for today’s Morning Show with John Richards, titled 120 Minutes in 180 Minutes as John does a tribute to MTV 120 Minutes creator Dave Kendall, who passed away yesterday.

This was such a heartwarming joy of a movie! Thanks, @comicfoil.bsky.social, for the wonderful recommendation. And yeah, Sally Field is a delight at any age. Retired Deadhead Miles O'Brien was lovely. And even in a VO role, Doc Ock as an actual octopus was sublime. 10/10 would watch and cry again.

Unintentionally, today is turning into a bit of a movie marathon for me. And I’m not complaining one bit. My third film watched was Remarkably Bright Creatures, and all I will say is that Sally Field remains a delight. And that I may have teared up a time or two. #MovieSky
