Thinking about Polyphemus in Nolan’s Odyssey. It has this Lovecraftian horror tinge to it that I really liked. First time I’ve thought about a cyclops as a legitimately frightening monster.

It was a 5-4 decision to defend the plain text of the Constitution, we should not be relieved by this.

Republicans haven’t been conservative in any real meaning of the word in a decade, they’re radical. Similarly, Democrat leadership hasn’t been particularly liberal or progressive for years, they’re conservative. We need more progressives in government to actually respond to our changing world.
