it's not that Dems and leftists need to be assholes, or dirtbags. It's that we have to end the bogus and self-defeating worship of civility. Uncivil people don't deserve civility. When someone advocates for politics of bigotry, cruelty and murder the proper response is to fuck them up.

thinking about Patrick Stewart and Tim Curry and Dolly Parton and Catherine O’Hara and how many of the tributes shared after they died translate to something like “their art made me feel like I wasn’t alone in the world” it is hard to think of a better way to spend a life than that
