I realized this morning that my body has grown accustomed to using the heat as an alarm clock because now that the heat wave broke I slept in for almost three hours right through an alarm. At least I'm not alone, two other people I know did the exact same thing this morning. Weird.

I've been on a lot of podcasts and I love all of them equally, but this convo about The Wicker Man, transmutation, faith, power, folk horror, the American psyche, and how deeply the 2006 film fails at every step is maybe loved a little more equally

Hello here is one of our favorite episodes to date, with the always-insightful @foldablehuman.bsky.social. We talked about The Wicker Man (1973) and also The Wicker Man (2006). And also like eight other things. youtu.be/aEjUQn6Kr_s

I had to block r/CATHELP The sub is a coin toss of "help is this normal!?" <video of two kittens playing in the friendliest, most playful way that kittens have ever played> and graphic photos of a cat clearly about to die an agonizing death

Doing a massive laundry project where I wash basically everything I own and sort into keep/donate and hit a strata of convention swag shirts where it’s like “yeah, I don’t really need any Airtable shirts, let alone three”

Every time I re-watch The Wicker Man (2006) it takes me all day because I keep pausing to do more exciting things like the dishes, checking the mail, or taking out the compost.

Double teamed In The Company of Wolves with Return to Oz, so quite a night for inventive props and costumes and animatronics in fantasy movies with psychosexual themes and absolute dire pacing.

I hate this headline. I hate it so much. Let me tell you why. It makes it sound like the AI was "cast" in a movie, except the movie is being made by the same people who made Tilly, it's all in house, I might as well announce that Dan Olson has been cast as the host of a Folding Ideas doc.

The YouTube dashboard is so broken right now, my god. I've reloaded like a dozen times and elements just refuse to display. I spent a solid minute trying to figure out how to upload a video because the "new video" button is currently invisible (it's the top of this list)

YouTube Create menu on the YouTube dashboard, showing Go live, Create post, New playlist, New podcast, New course, and New show but not new video.

Sekiro is the best From game by a lot. This is not dismissing the rest of the catalogue: however good you think the others are, Sekiro is just that much better. It really is a singular masterpiece.

It is telling just how much cachet Willow Nightingale has, just how popular she is with audiences, that she’s getting weekly 60 second cinematic pre-recorded story spots while she’s out on injury in an industry where injured performers regularly just vanish from the show for months.

Holy crap, actual Vatican 2 schism! Checked in on my favourite tradcath geocentrists, or tried to (can't find where Rick DeLano posts these days). Robert Sungenis' stance is "you're right about Vatican 2 but why would you go and get yourselves excommunicated?"

Reinstalled Nine Sols to get some footage of a couple boss fights and was reminded that the English translation of the Jades is so bad basically none of them that matter behave the way you think they do.
