A global scientific review has just found that 51% of migratory #bird species are experiencing population declines. Habitat destruction, #ClimateChange, and other human-caused threats are causing them to fly towards extinction. Without stronger conservation efforts, more losses are inevitable.

Equals 10 nuclear reactors Reduces heat island, shades cars The US -- 800 million parking spaces. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight. Why aren't we doing this?

#GhostPipe on the trail today, aka #CorpsePlant. A rare little perennial, with an almost translucent flower. When I was a kid in outdoor science camp, our camp counselor took us on hikes and told us these only grew on top of dead bodies buried in the forest. Creepy. And not true, btw. 😂 #Hiking
At a #MetMuseum visit I saw the ancient mosaic that inspired Lennon’s mosaic in #StrawberryFields. Am I the only one reminded of that botched “Monkey Christ” fiasco? The mosaic was destroyed in Pompeii and restored. I think they hired the same lady. That’s supposed to be #Medusa in the center! 🫠🤯

Good news. In my suburban town in New Jersey there is an initiative to replace residential and commercial lawns with native plant meadows.
Today I took a trip to the #MetropolitanMuseumOfArt again, to wander. Always look up! These are ceremonial painted panels of the Kwoma people of Papua New Guinea. Mythological histories and stories in the sky. #ArtsOfOceania. Just like looking up at a tree canopy, I’m filled with wonder.
