People who use the term "miseryporn" pretend that misery isn't a universal (or nearly) human experience, a rare one that can transcend even materialist/class stratification, and that it isn't necessary for us to live briefly in the misery of others to gain a broader frame of reference for our own.
Reviews or other analyses of art that use "tortureporn" or "traumaporn" are also grounds for dismissal, because in addition it presupposes that "porn" is shorthand for bad, which is an anti-art conservative position and a thought-terminating cliche.
