This will be only the third ICE removal trip Omni has done since June 16. Before that they were averaging two per week w multiple stops on each. Sure seems like they’re avoiding ICE flights while private-equity owner Stonepeak tries to buy Chicago’s parking meters. A rep claimed Omni was for sale.

"Tonk" is a Border Patrol slur that refers to the sound a metal flashlight makes when used to beat a migrant in the head. And that's the word that Border Patrol agents under the direct command of Greg Bovino were using when bragging about their arrests in Los Angeles last year.

Immigration agents who descended on Los Angeles last summer referred to Latinos using slurs like “tonk” and “wet,” according to body camera footage and text messages detailed in a court filing asking a federal judge to bar agents from making stops based on racial profiling.

After a June raid at Home Depot in Hollywood, body camera footage captured an agent saying: “There was a guy, I’m pretty sure he’s wet he was just sitting in that minivan.” A text chain revealed an agent referring to “tonks everywhere selling food” — using a word reportedly derived from the sound an agent’s utility flashlight makes when hitting a migrant’s head. In a video, an agent said, “Yeah, just plug us in wherever you see some tonks and we’ll jump out.”

It is becoming clear that ICE is utilizing this tactic to increase their daily kidnapping #s. We are also increased reports involving CBP operating further inland again, too. Cluster raids mean when ICE hits one location, it’s highly probable they will hit another one nearby almost immediately.

ICE has been in San Fernando Valley, CA every day now for the last couple weeks targeting Panorama City, Pacoima, Van Nuys and surrounding areas likely working out of their new field office in Van Nuys. This was in North Hollywood this morning on Lankershim and Cohasset St. This is just one of many.
