Purple Loosestrife is an invasive plant to NA. An herbal remedy for diarrhea, etc. My own observations tell me it is a pollinator magnet. Between our bouts of severe rainstorms i see bees swarming all over the tiny flowers, some so heavy with pollen they couldn't move. I got one in photo!

There is NOTHING/NO ONE that thiefinchief sux on more than a kingywingy. Kings, kings, kings, what he wants to be (though now he seems to have moved up to God). So King Muhammed VI of Morocco has sucked up to him, including attacking Spain with that preposterous immigration tsunami on Ceuta.
Been laffing at the 'essays' by classics academics etc. opining on Homer and Nolan. They commit all the errors back in the day when there was Freshman English not to commit, particularly in structure and organization. Emily Wilson in the LRB, you particularly need to be embarrassed!*
My bit of Gotham this afternoon, after last night's rainstorms. The flooding passed us by, thankfully.
Yet they are happy with with thiefinchief and his rapist pedophiles corrupt insane deranged treasonous assholes be there. Fuck 'em all. Who do we think came up with this terrific strategy, hmmmmm? www.timesofisrael.com/an-unwelcome...

The Revolutionary New York 1776 did, in my opinion, go overboard with Hamilton at the end of he exhibit, with a painting of his wife, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, his desk and a chair he sat on supposedly. My opinions and feelings about Hamilton are very mixed; cannot view him as a hero, really.
1)My favorite part of the Revolutionary New York exhibit was Occupied New York -- a dreadful time for just about anyone not a Brit officer or very well off. Death from cold, starvation, disease and violence was rife. Nowhere to live! So much NYC had burned.
I was proud of the Museum of New York providing a T-shirt with this slogan.
1) We've been having an intensely NYC summer, which we thpughy culminated in Postmambo Studies Gotham live music seminars for Travelers who live outside and in NY. Yesterday was our anniversary. The NYC theme continued, starting with the Revolutionary Era exhibit at the Museum of NY City.
1) Not only are the Tate Bros arrested for sex trafficking, rape, etc. Batarti Gabbard, the 55-year-old brother of former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, was arrested Friday for allegedly trying to lure children to a hotel room in Honolulu, www.honolulupd.org/update-suspe...

1) History abounds in delicious ironies. One of my favorites is in the 13 colonies' war to rid the colonies of a king, during the first land battle between French and British forces, the Siege of Savannah (1779), both sides yelled "God Save the King!"
The interview with the consultants who recruited Platner is wiiiiild. Really feels like a parody. And imo a revealing indictment of the supporters who are still standing with Platner. Buying into a shallow aesthetic of populism at the cost of all else. These are the kind of people they trust.
Thiefinchief is in Türkiye howling the US will pull all troops out of Europe unless the US is given Greenland. Where did the War on Iran's nukes go? Erdogan had to take hold of thiefinchief to show him how to walk off a stage. The shame of the US.
Why will not any of the media, whatever variety it is, say it out loud and proud, what it all is seeing and has been seeing every single day? The man has senile dementia. He steals the Wall St. opening bell. He steals the ribbon cutting scissors for Theo Roosevelt National Library etc.
The Brits retreating from Philadelphia > Battle of Monmouth, June 28, 1778. Temps were 100°+. 7 hours battle. what all of them suffered, though survivors did, in journals and letters. Both sides claimed victory. Molly Pritcher's legend was born there, bringing water to cool the cannon.

Back to the Spoils System. Thunderously brought into the government hiring and staffing by Andrew Jackson, this is what, incidentally, killed Garfield. His assassin, Charles Julius Guiteau, was a most angry disappointed job seeker.
It's already begun, and shall only get worse as the week continues. I have small bottles of water in the freezer, and have been positioning my array of hand fans where I will not forget to take one on my way out the door. A small bottle of frozen water and a fan, really help. Remember sunscreen!
