Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security. Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

Clarence Thomas says the 14th Amendment should be read narrowly because it was written for formerly enslaved people. By that logic, the 2nd Amendment was written for muskets, not AR-15s. Funny how that kind of originalism only shows up when it's convenient.

E graduated from HS yesterday. An expected rites of passage, I know, but I have been surprised by my own reaction to it all. We don't do ANY of this in the UK so I had no clue. As my one-and-only passes this milestone, I must now reconfigure my own existence - it's a little trippy tbh.

An academic year highlight = Commencement. Thrilled to meet families, celebrate with graduates, & welcome former students during alumni weekend. We dedicated a space in Churchill House to beloved Anani Dzidzienyo. It downpoured but we ended the year in style. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!
