Hello @ppfideas.bsky.social I've been enjoying the PPF podcast for a few months now and find it to be truly wonderful. I'm not sure if this film has ever come up in any discussions, but I just discovered 1971's "Punishment Park" and thought it would make good fodder for an episode. Cheers, Fredbo

I make and build things and see the world as a stranger. I got big plans and things are afoot, iron in the fire, paint on the palette, etc. Stay tuned!

A lot has happened in the past 3 months. My mom becoming ill and dying in that time being the most surreal occurrence. Parallel to her becoming ill I began work on my first serious piece of art in years. An elegy to her it will be exhibited at Broad and Belvidere Contemporary Art this month. #Art

Just in case you didn't know this, I just want to emphasize that the medical system in the United States is a fucking abomination.
Life and death and all the shit in between is really something. I feel like screaming, but there's not even an echo to hear in this void.

Ya know. It really stinks when you're using a pipe tap to clean the vent hole threads on a 100+ year old cast iron radiator, and despite using tool oil as well as being as gentle as possible, said tap breaks off in the hole. Now I must remove the 200 lbs. radiator and see if I can get the tap out.
The Spanish Inquisition was a Christian enterprise. History shows that "Christian values" (or any values for that matter) are not much of a moral impediment to people that want to do heinous things.
I wonder whether at some point people who are currently Christian nationalists are going to figure out that Christianity isn’t actually a good fit for their core values - too much empathy, helping the downtrodden, etc - and just become pagan nationalists or something.
You know it's tremendously demoralizing to be a 51 year old who finds a kernel of funny amidst this accelerating hellscape in which we live only to be told by a younger friend, "yeah, I've seen a bunch of stuff like that" as they shake their head in mild annoyance and with a semblance of pity. 😔
