We are 47 aspiring DC Democratic State Committee Members running together to help co-create a new DC Democratic Party that is truly committed to taking BOLD COLLECTIVE ACTION for all residents of our future Douglass Commonwealth ~ freedcslate.com

For 11 days we are marking 1 year of Trump's Occupation of DC by telling the stories of the ways these forces are hurting our communities. Last night, on Day 1, we told the story of Julian Bailey, who was shot nine times by U.S. Marshals in February.

DC, #DeleteDoordash. We are demanding the company take several steps: 1. Speak out against ICE and federal police 2. State public opposition to the "DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force" 3. Withdraw their support of H.R. 9720. Tell them you agree at (855) 431-0459 or emailing support@doordash.com

"DC, delete DoorDash. We are demanding the company:

1. Issue a public statement against ICE and other federal police who are hunting and killing delivery drivers in the street.

2. State publicly that the "DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force" should end.

3. Immediately withdraw their support for H.R. 9720.

HR 9720 is the latest in a pattern of attacks from Congress trying to destabilize DC's finances. DoorDash is supporting the bill because the company doesn't want to pay TWENTY CENTS to restore food access programs for low-income households. DoorDash's revenue in the last 12 months was $14.72B.

That Food Delivery Is Soon Going To Cost You a Little More in D.C.

DoorDash unsuccessfully fought a 20-cent fee approved by the D.C. Council that will also affect UberEats deliveries.

For the last year and a half, DoorDash has been silent as delivery drivers in DC have been hunted in the streets and even killed by ICE and other federal police. Now, the company has come out in support of #HR9720 — the blatant attack on DC Home Rule — just so it can earn more money.

Doordash has been sildent on the arrests and deaths of delivery drivers in DC — and just came out in support of HR 9720, a blatant attack on DC's Home Rule

Yesterday Donald Trump's State Department published a report that targets 43 elected leaders, unions, and political organizations by name. It's a clear attempt to intimidate people for basic political activity. We reject it, and are in solidarity with the organizations in our DC community.

Statement of solidarity with organizations and individuals targeted by Trump’s State Department

Washington DC — Yesterday Donald Trump’s Department of State published a new report that targets 43 elected leaders, unions, and political organizations by name.

In response, Free DC issued the following statement:

“Trump wants people who disagree with him to feel divided and afraid and that’s clearly what this list is about. We refuse to take the bait.

“It seems like Marco Rubio might be distracted by those shoes that are too big for him. For heaven’s sake George Floyd is listed here. Other people on this list include lifelong public servants, people who have spent their lives working for justice, and at least one person who has perfected the art of chocolate ice cream. Between war with Iran, escalating crises in Ukraine, Palestine, and Venezuela, starting a trade war with Canada, and accusing China of election interference, it seems like the State Department should look in the mirror and address its own problems.”

“This list includes several organizations here in our DC community. We are in steadfast solidarity with local organizations that fight for Black Lives, the DC chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America, the Claudia Jones School, the National Lawyers’ Guild, and Medea Benjamin. Fear cannot divide us.”

🥳 Certified & seated. 🎶 We can't stop & we won't stop. 💔 Especially while DC remains disenfranchised & under occupation. 🌊 It's time to keep it moving, together, to Free DC. 🧬 Onwards & upwards!

America, the capital city is under military occupation. It’s not about the fountains. It’s not about the Fair. This task force has killed people. They are reinforcing ICE. They are making arrests without legal authority. WAKE UP

Governor Whitmer sent Michigan's National Guard to DC to assist with "America 250" — but the events happening on the National Mall this week are all "Freedom 250," Trump's personal, partisan version. They are supporting a sad, empty Trump rally.

The Trump administration is engaging in a bait and switch with Democratic governors, requesting troops to support the 250th then arming them with minimal pistol training and sending them out to patrol neighborhoods all over DC. At what point will these governors learn not to feed the fascism?

In a first since Trump deployed the guard to D.C., Democrats are sending troops

Undeterred by Trump's tantrums, we continue our rise with & for the people of DC. When elected, we will respect DC's votes & act to grow DC's autonomy. Demilitarize DC. Protect & nourish our communities. Organize for Statehood now. Vote for the whole Free DC Slate by 8pm tomorrow, June 16th.

Statement beneath the header "Free DC Slate" that reads:

Last week, sitting U.S. President Donald Trump renewed his threat to “take over” the District – a move that follows more than a year of nervous complicity from DC's political establishment. DC deserves a Mayor, a Congressional Delegate, and a Democratic Party that meet unprovoked hostility towards DC Home Rule with corresponding demands for reciprocity and mutual respect for DC’s autonomy. Our local civic leadership must recognize that muted acquiescence is neither a strategic nor effective form of negotiation.

The Free DC Project has led the charge in organizing meaningful resistance to the neo-Confederate posturing of the Trump-Vance regime. We need that same energy on the Democratic State Committee. That's why we're running as the Free DC Slate, because when fascists like Donald Trump make these threats and follow through with attacks on our neighbors, we need a local party that will drive and develop leaders that act with courage and govern with care. By 8:00pm tomorrow, we invite DC to vote together to bridge our communities, not command false ‘unity’ in the face of present tensions.

“DC residents are justifiably insisting upon a local Democratic Party that will take bold collective action to protect Home Rule and achieve Statehood,” Philip Pannell, Free DC Slate Candidate for National Committeeman. “We are the future of the DC Democratic Party and the future is now,” Kelsye Adams, Free DC Slate Candidate for National Committeewoman.
