I like reading LitRPG: reality is a game, numbers go up. It's fun and pleases my brain. But the amount of unedited trash and Gen-AI stuff that get "published" as books in this genre is awful. It makes it really hard to find something to read. Any LitRPG readers have book recommendations?
I have an appointment in 6 hours, my brain started focusing on it 2 hours ago. I keep thinking "I should get ready to leave for the appointment". It's making focusing on work really hard. Brain, please, chill out. We have time.
Temperatures didn't go under 30°C last night. Woke up at 6am, was 31°C. It's only getting worse throughout the day. Luckily this should be the last day of the heat wave for my area. 4 or 5 days at around 40°C was more than enough for me. I'm in west coast France, in June, this is not normal.
Next week is going to be "fun", summer is starting with a heat wave!

Tonight YouTube started interceding community post images between the videos in my feed. It's pissing me off so much. I go to YouTube for videos not static images. Plus it's from channels I don't know, additionally there is some religious bullshit quoting the bible. And... Fuck that noise!
Twice today I thought something was wrong with my computer, first Youtube videos were stuck in 0.1 second loop and I couldn't fast forward. Then a few hours later, drag and drop stopped working. In both instances, it was just because a random object was pressing a key on my keyboard.
Film I've watched more than 6 times? Any BttF, any Die Hard, Wayne's World, Lords of Dogtown, and so many more... I grew up in a time of VHS, rewatching the same movies you had at home over and over was the norm.

Just did my income taxes for 2025, as usual I find it extremely stressful despite it being somewhat straight forward in France, I feel sorry for people in the US, where I'm lead to believe it's a nightmare.
Things about US houses that baffle me as a European: -Houses built out of wood and drywall with skinny flimsy walls -Guillotine style windows that can't fully open -No shutters on windows -Loose insolation in attics making them unusable I'm sure there is more that I can't think of right now.
I love being told to calm down when what I said was perfectly calm... love it... For context, I left a comment on a video saying "It's a shame to see you use so much AI slop", the video creator replied telling to calm down and started justifying it using AI slop as a joke, before privating the video
Over the past year I've laid out more than 20 files with the same 6 guild emblems and I'm finally recognizing which guild they represent without having to check the file name... Took me long enough...
Not having to do anything for public consumption sounds like a great thing and really easy. I'm not someone who feels the need to be productive. Depending on how much the "fully funded" part covers, I would travel, do some home improvement projects, and just enjoy my life.

I always hear the stereotype "French people always dress up to leave the house, they never wear sweatpants outside" and it pisses me off. On my bus right now, 5 out of 10 people are wearing sweatpants. Clearly French people wear sweatpants outside for their day to day!

I just read a comic booklet provided by a French organization specialized in comic books explaining medical acts. They let you choose if you're a boy, a girl, a woman, or a man, and if you have autism or not, or you have a motor disability to adapt the comic to you. Which is nice, in theory.

Also, say what you want about the French health care system, but getting my teeth fixed is costing absolutely nothing out of pocket, everything is taken care of without private health insurance.

I called that dentist 2 months ago, they told me the waiting list for an appointment was 2 years, I'm glad I said that I didn't care, put me on the list.
