I have agoraphobia and spent the entire COVID pandemic on my own. I am only just coming out of the worst of that with a myriad of issues with my health and energy levels since infection. The idiots who think lockdown was a bad idea didn't suffer the same way we "active immune response" folks did.

Discovering how hypermobile I am is *an experience*. You mean it isn't normal to be able to push your fingers back 90 degrees without pain? You mean it isn't normal for your legs to lock slightly beyond 180 degrees? And it isn't normal to be able to twist your shoulders and spine nearly 360 degrees?

I hope that people with plans to leave have actually fucking thought through the implications of where they're moving to. It's gonna take me at least another couple of years to move, it's a hard slog to set yourself on - and I'm doing so for love, not fear! The motivation's a lot different.

Electrolysis for surgical site has started back up again - and I am once again frightening a new technician with how my pain thresholds work. Cluster Headaches suck but they also have a side-effect - they make most people's excruciating pain like a mild wasp sting because your brain recalibrates.

"Trans people always knew they were trans" Lots of good stories on the recursive quote post but I wanna say - I didn't truly understand many of my body's quirks until this year. And even then I am still processing it. Despite being on HRT for 5 years on Wednesday. We are denied introspection.

"Trans people always knew they were trans" No. I had no inkling of it. I had no language for it. I liked playing women because it felt right in games. I liked writing from a woman's POV because it felt correct but that was it. I knew I wasn't "normal." I knew I didn't fit.

@jennylist.bsky.social how simple is it to get the European equivalent of a Radar key as a non-EU resident? Can you just order one to your home address like in the case of the UK systems? Thinking about the implications of my IBS and what would make me feel most comfortable in the event of a flare.

The more I think of the frequency of remakes in video games the more I think we need an Ahoy "Brown games" vid analysing the statistics about whether we are seeing perceptions about too many remakes/reboots.

There's rumours we might be seeing a trailer for the sequel to "THAT" wizard game this week. To all of you who bought the last one, and said "I don't support her transphobia, but the story means so much to me", you've got a second chance to take a stand and not give her money this time.

This is so important, today especially. We are constantly being pushed out of artistic spaces. Cowards justify working on the bigot's wizard show because "job security" while many of us are desperately trying to survive. Help us in a direct and material way. And you get cool art! It's a win-win!

This. Do not donate to these large non-profits to help us. Donate to us. Our GoFundMes, our PayPals, our mutual aid requests. Buy our art. So many of us are freelancers. Hire us! Fucking subscribe to our OnlyFans or Patreons or whatever. Actually improve our material conditions.

Today is the kind of day where I want to essentially write "Width-based `@media` queries Considered Harmful". I don't know if this is a talk/CFP, a blog post, or a YouTube video. If I can articulate this it might be my NDC Oslo submission.

I love how my immediate response to Discord's controversy is "I should write a new IRCv3 client and bouncer in async Rust"... says something about the state of the world that I want to NIH IRC updates...

The two hardest problems in Computer Science are 1. Human communication 2. Getting people in tech to believe that human communication is important

12 months on since I was signed off until the start of this year for a mental health crisis. I feel like a completely different person vs. back then. I still get flashbacks, but it's easier than it was. "I am proud of myself" understates things. You should be of yourself too if you're reading this.
