at @nuclearbob.net ‘s birthday dinner I said I’d take the doorprize that would lead to playing Steve Jackson’s Car Wars and it was fun learning to play. Hear me out, Car Wars Legacy…

He/Him Plays tabletop games, sells cameras, donates blood, smells like chlorine. Loves metal. Using bsky mostly for personal interests.
Went to the Indiana State Fair, saw the circus, took some photos. Motorcycle act was cool.
Someone on the internet gave me advice, I took it, and it worked. Help, is this normal? 😆 Thanks @mjrichards.bsky.social !
It helps to dilute the stuff rather than using it straight out of the bottle
Reading the Daniel Abraham Dagger & Coin series and I choose to believe that Palliako is a Pagliacci joke. I do like Marcus Western even if I called him John Deadwife while telling Mox about the first book.
If anyone's disappointed my potatoes are for dinner and not tonight's shoot may I offer a consolation prize?
Well. I'm back in Four Thirds. For the first time in my life I own an MMF-3 adapter for Four Thirds lenses on Micro Four Thirds, maintaining weather-sealing. Now I just need a good 50-200 to come through, to replace a lens I never should've let go of. I think I'll wait for an SWD this time though.
First thought when I see an absurd animal moment is “pbr” as in “please be real”
Just moved to the Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap: Peppermint this morning. When I say that I was unprepared for how it would feel on my body, I mean I am minty fresh in places I’ve never been minty fresh before. Gonna be a weird one today, Tater.
Bought the Kroger brand liquid castile soap instead of Dr Bronner’s and now I can wash my hair, face, and wood floors with the same juice.
Spoiler, off screen it’s assumed he does decapitate that Nazi in uniform. Anyway I’m replaying TNO.
Hear me out, Alan Ritchson as BJ Blazkowicz. I’d take a tight 90 treatment or a few 8 episode seasons based on the Machine Games series.
Helped a customer run Rescue Pro software on an SD card that her Z8 & computer decided didn’t have any pics on it anymore. Recovered a ton of files including the gig from the day before. She’d been white knuckling until the .NEFs she was hoping to see showed up then cried in relief.

Remembering a clip of John Gottman quipping that there is a “viagra for women” and it’s listening.
Double red down. No artsy planning meeting but good we got the heavy lifting done yesterday.
My friend Chelsea and her hubs have fostered 19 or 20 dogs and their own dog is a therapy dog. They practice compassion and kindness in their way. I just can’t deal with animals (& my allergies to them) and I admire the work they do.
So much of what we do is holding a hand out and saying, "I have felt this way. Have you felt this way too?" And the extraordinary magic is when someone reaches back and says, "Oh fuck yes I have." And we're all a little less lonely in our little universes.
Chandelier replaced with LED fandelier. Had to remove dimmer switch and replace with single pole switch. Worst physical sensation today was stepping, barefoot, onto the dirt under the rug / rug pad when we rolled it up. :shudder:
Today’s project is swapping the living & dining rooms. If we like it, we’ll actually move the wall-mount for the TV. Tomorrow morning double red donation then brunch with a pal where I get to talk about maybe doing ekphrasis with her.
What is it like to love someone who has done something evil? How do we live in community and protect people from being victimized while recognizing that we can’t imprison or execute our way there?
Finished Resident Alien this week. Got some wrasslin to do with the difference between moral exclusion and just violence. Whose crimes get excused and why? The Wound and the Bow except the Wound is a specific evil act. To paraphrase Le Guin, there isn't an answer, there's a story to explore it.
I dunno I think maybe it’s fine to judge historical figures for their choices as moral actors even if things were different then.
…artisanal toxic codependency. 🫡 I am fired up and it’s not just the new Electric Callboy.
"LOL here's my yumeslop--" *grabs your face* You hush your mouth. That is not slop. That is your lovingly handcrafted romance. Your homegrown erotica. Your artisanal toxic codependency.
This is the way. My wife is in a Greek Mythology inspired game and she’s playing a Bard who keeps giving people heroic or insulting epitaphs as needed.
My TTRPG group is talking about running a pirate one shot inspired by The Odyssey, and I want to name my character ARRRdysseus.
Also finished @stephengrahamjones.com Killer On the Road last night and has me in mind to re-listen to I Was A Teenage Slasher and The Angel of Indian Lake with their contemplation of consequence; the stalking horror as a kind of terrible vengeance, a perverted justice. KOTR was very, very good.

Been liking Meg Myers for a long while - the Smashing Pumpkins cover doesn’t hit like the original but it’s interesting music.apple.com/us/album/eye...

Taking embarrassingly too few photos of the office renovation.
Great title in these trad wife times. My Mother Doesn't Work Olga Steinepreis, Germany Via Lens Culture’s 2026 Critics’ Choice Awards. Full entry: www.lensculture.com/photo-compet...
Instead, the masculinity discourse is consumed with domination and control, with the lame figleaf that this is all in the name of 'protecting' women and children from something, but of course that value set produces the very men women and children need to be protected from.
