We are dedicated to preserving Preschool for All, Multnomah County’s landmark universal preschool program. https://friendsofpfa.org/
Thank you, @nathanongnorris.bsky.social for pledging to fully fund Preschool for All and respect voter intent.
Preschool for All is a promise we made to the children of Multnomah County — to prioritize their well-being and early eduction needs. That’s why I signed the P4A pledge. I will continue to be, a strong advocate for Multnomah County’s landmark universal preschool program. @friendsofpfa.bsky.social
Been saying this! Have you signed our petition to tell the County Board you want PFA fully funded, instead of tax cuts for the top 10%? actionnetwork.org/petitions/fu...
wow hey having universal programs and services is good, actually
"Let's be honest about the broader political moment here. PDX voters approved progressive programs like PCEF & Preschool for All. Almost immediately, powerful institutions start looking for ways to shrink them, redirect the money or to argue that they shouldn't have even existed in the first place."
Portlanders voted for climate action because they understood that the crisis was real.
Supporting 200+ small childcare providers is no small feat, it's really cool to see a program creating real business opportunities while keeping wages fair for staff.

This is amazing! I know there will still be a lot for @multco.bsky.social to do to make preschool universal in Multnomah County but I'm impressed with how quickly it's rolled out and from my family's experience with our now-Kinder student, this is huge for families! www.wweek.com/news/schools...
Big congratulations to Dr. Tammy Carpenter on her win! ✨🎉

"I know there are many Preschool for All advocates with us today, and I want to thank you for your role in bringing this program to life and defending it against ongoing threats."
In a surprise to no one, Preschool for All is still in the crosshairs of the wealthy few. Governor Kotek's "prosperity council" appears poised to demand "reduction of top marginal income tax rates". Prosperity for whom?
