(she/her) Hi guys, I'm FriskaFriskito (or just Friska!), 2D animator and illustrator based in Egypt! Occasionally I post art (no AI is ever used in these!) I’m most active on Tumblr, but here are more places to find me: https://linktr.ee/FriskaFriskito

Man it’s always wild to revisit school memories through an adult lens and understand what was fair, what was silly, and what really was messed up I think even more so, if you’ve worked for some time as a teacher

Things that I was frightened of as a child: 1. Vampires 2. American McGee’s Alice (my brother had the demo as a kid) 3. Balloons 4. Injections 5. The roach guy from Men in Black 6. My brother’s ‘learning computer’ toy (a ghost in a spelling game made a bit-crushed ‘woo’ if you got it wrong)

Things I was frightened of as a child: 1. Dinosaurs 2. Tornados 3. Throwing up 4. this specific image of the "chupacabra" in a creepy book about cryptids, which I've since learned is a jumpscare prop in a horror dark ride in Santa Cruz

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH FOR LETTING ME BE A PART OF THIS! 💕 My art submission is at 9:57 and then my music one at 20:27, but I highly recommend you watch the full thing as there are a lot of incredible community creators and submissions featured!

Animation: our ESL book had a flipbook animation in the corner! That was when I was like “OH. Wait. That’s all it takes?” Digital art: I saw Endling’s horror art on dA when I was 15, it gave me nightmares. Then I was like “Wait. Ink and paper can give me nightmares? That’s all it takes?”

In the 90s, animated film trailers would run before movies in theaters but also VHSes that were newly released. Often they would have incomplete pencil tests in them because they weren't done yet. I remember seeing that but for Pocahontas and the Hunchback Of Notre Dame and was like. I can do that

Very vivid memory of playing on a tiny Casio (a teeny 2(1/2) octave thing with a cartridge of songs, and you couldn’t play chords) Two songs on the cartridge were Greensleeves and Die Lorelei, you followed the LEDs above the keys And at the end it rated how well you did (which was terrifying)
