Reports by Frontex and BBC have renewed scrutiny of Greece’s Evros border operations, documenting allegations of violent pushbacks in which masked men were allegedly used alongside Greek officers. The material includes accounts of beatings, threats, theft, and sexual violence.

Alaa Hamoudi was very unlucky to end up in the hands of Frontex and its Greek partners, but his luck turned when Bashar found him, and thanks to Bashar and his colleagues from @lighthousereports.com and @bellingcat.com, Alaa’s case was ultimately brought before the @eucourtofjustice.bsky.social
