Yo no quiero que el formato físico para videojuegos desaparezca, pero como usuario del formato digital que soy desde hace décadas tampoco creo que la solución pase por desprestigiar lo digital. Steam, GOG o 'Internet Archive' son buenos ejemplos de preservación, ownership y precios baratos.

can’t count the number of times I’ve arrived at a conclusion much better than I originally intended simply by writing. having the hazy outline of an idea and then foisting the rest onto a machine means you never get there. worse, you never develop the instincts or faculties necessary to get there

Exact budgets of video-game productions can be tough to corroborate (more transparency from publishers would be nice!) but the numbers I've heard floating around AAA game dev these days are $300 million or more — sometimes much more! — which I think helps explain the current state of the industry

Number one mistake in my opinion from many indie game demos I've been playing so far is the amount of lore dumping and dialog just at the start. Let me move around and discover things by myself before locking me down just reading... let me care for the world and people before explaining it!

BREAKING: PlayStation is shutting down Bluepoint Games, the studio responsible for modern remakes of classic games such as Demon's Souls and Shadow of the Colossus, Bloomberg News has learned. A shocking end for a well-respected studio.

This is also true for feedback from publishers/bosses. One example I always use: the publisher says "the cars are too slow!", dev checks max speed: 400kmh. Instead of modifying the speed, the dev modifies the camera and the FOV when the speed is bigger. The publisher loves it. Max speed is the same.

Remember: When you playtest a game, never take players’ feedback/suggestions at face value. Figure out what emotion is underneath what they’re telling you, and then figure out what in the game is causing that emotion
