"I miss back when devs made games without bugs, only physical release and no online downloads" You mean back when there you could buy a game from the store with a game breaking bug and zero possibilities of a fix? With broken systems or unbalanced until the next physical release in another region?

This is kind of a spoiler of my game but basically my idea was that the spaceships with all the Earth refugees would crash into Mars thanks to the carefully designed AI systems and cheap build. But reality keeps getting dumber, my imagination is being outmatched by how dumb everything is becoming.

SpaceX rocket is on course to slam into the moon at 7 times the speed of sound.

Let's remove empathy and the human aspect from the equation and look at this purely through logic. If wealth and resources are not shared, if such a big wealth gap is created between members of the same society, everyone suffers. US pushes people into poverty and then wonders why crime increases 🤷‍♀️

We share this report from the SINC Agency about the high figures for organ donation and transplantation last year. This activity allowed thousands of patients to receive an organ thanks to the public system, according to the report presented by the National Transplant Organization.

That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?

It's sad to see Kyoto Xanadu get rid of the modern Ys combat that already worked like a charm and instead push a metroidvania style that's lacking in gameplay, art and level design.

Horny on main 🤣

Yokoi: That's right. At the time I was struggling with the question: "How could we fit a joystick in a person's pocket…?" I created a number of different prototypes, including one that resembled a woman's breast. In the end, the model that best allowed players to know, by touch, which direction they were moving, was the cross-shaped directional pad. I never thought it would become the standard though. (laughs) As a project it wasn't something I took that seriously, relatively speaking. The essence of games is competition, and I think that’s a remnant of our past as animals, and the competition of the survival of the fittest. I think you see it reflected all through human history, how people with wealth and power want to have harems, acquire women… that kind of thing is at the root of humanity.

It's sad to have to add this to all my public repositories. Until now I shared everything using the most open license available. I'm no longer sharing anything until the AI bubble pops.

Blue Bottle Games, as a policy, does not use generative AI. It's something we've discussed as a team, weighing the pros and cons, and ultimately, we decided it was not for us. Recently, while chatting with a colleague, she mentioned it was useful hearing our reasoning. So: Sharing time! 1/12

It's cool to see that with zero advertising, no video and WIP screenshots on the Steam page I still have people wishlisting the game. If even this early in the development phase there are folks that are already intrigued by it, it's a good enough signal for me to keep going.

Katavatis wishlist additions 101

I realized that I haven't shared some updates to the renderer for my Playdate prototype. Here's the masked texture support so I can have windows and railings. Also now I can add hidden doors. And finally, the latest update to the swimming controls and the creepy office with the cleaned up textures.

I'm currently writing the part of my game's story that can be summed up as "Imagine if Jeff Bezos had access to the technology from Event Horizon" and I might have to tone it down because right now it reads like the most terrifying horror novel ever written 😭

"I don't understand why generative AI is so widely accepted among developers. It's so surprising!" So, you've been hearing women and minorities denounce the toxicity and discrimination in those communities for years... decades, even, and you still thought those communities were morally acceptable?

I’m making a retro inspired souls-like called PRISON OF HUSKS, and I need your help! We’ve just opened our playtest application in our Discord, so please sign up if you like classic soulslikes, dreamy aesthetics, and gay dolls :]

If you go watch mythbusters early seasons that's basically any small to medium size game company. If you go watch severance that's basically any modern big AAA corporation. If you go watch The War of the Roses that's basically SEGA during the 90s.

I feel like game devs are a unique combination of all of “doing some of the hardest software engineering”, “wild west cowboy bullshit”, and “hitting themselves in the head with hammers for no reason”
