I cook. I ramble. Mostly, to metal. 📍Philadelphia

Every day of my life online I see men with the weirdest flexes and brags. My child farts as loud as kids twice his age, I was once kicked out of a Hooters, my favorite sportsman has a better car collection than your favorite sportsman. Stuff like that.

Great episode of HotD tonight and I absolutely love my one episode per week format. I've rambled about the superiority of slow pleasures for me enough that I don't need me to go off again, but: yeah. Just love it.

Watching Fallen (1998) for the first time since it came out. I see "Geno’s" and go, what? This is in my city?? It's wild how soon I've sorta become a local here. Much faster than anywhere else I've lived.

we listen to music, not because its good, but because the only alternative is listening to some guy say some racist shit

Cooked, baked, worked, worked out, saw friends, met new people, had a good time, received replacement parts, fixed my toilet (saved +$300 compared to calling my plumber). It's been the BEST day this month.

My kitchen was too hot to handle the patty dough 😭 I had to give up the cute chonky heart shapes and go for regular, which then all opened despite trying to chill the dough and working in batches. Oh well. They're done. #FoodSky

A plastic tray with the lid, through which you can see a bunch of small, irregular, many of them half-open (think tiny tacos) Jamaican beef patties. A jar of homemade fresh pineapple salsa resting on top. Both the patties and the salsa are VERY mild because I know from experience nobody here can handle the ̶t̶r̶u̶t̶h̶ heat.

My bedside lamp, which turns on by tapping it, has turned itself on 4 times tonight. No accidental tapping of mine while sleeping, either—the light was at its highest intensity every one of those times (requires 3 taps).

I can't even bring myself to read it, but this is one of the reasons why I can't stay. I can't face the medical bills if sth bad happens. I'm already spending 6k a year (on top of income taxes, clarification for my Spanish followers) for being perfectly healthy and not going to the doctor at all.

This is an inspiring story of badassery until you realize this guy hiked 10 miles down a mountain with a filthy harpoon through his torso because that was *less terrifying* than the prospect of an air ambulance bill. No, really. www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/u...
