Wow just realized the Perl book I co-authored in 2001 is now old enough to get a discount on it's car insurance. 🤣
I guess on one hand it's an honor to be targeted like this? Be super careful with your credentials everyone. They're targeting people and they're sneaky! frankwiles.com/posts/i-got...

I realized I haven't re-posted any blogs to dev.to in a long ass time. So I did my recent post on oss maintainership in an LLM world and have now gotten several spam "Ask Frank" questions wanting to do work for us. Guess I won't be making THAT mistake again!

A couple of weeks ago I gave a short talk on Open Source Maintainership in an LLM world, I turned it into a blog post because I wanted to be able to share the advice to a wider audience. frankwiles.com/posts/open-...

Dear Email Marketers, the VERY first thing I do if I'm even mildly interested in what you're saying is copy the domain you sent from into my browser to learn more about you. When this doesn't redirect that tells me all I need to know about you and move on.
Made a fun little utility for myself over the last hour or so. Using Adam Johnson's new django-mcpz created an MCP in my personal cluster to collect "notes" and then an iOS shortcut to launch Claude in voice chat mode so I can add/edit/retrieve notes while on the go

There’s obviously a lot going on right now, but a Russian oligarch bankrolling the wedding of the president’s son is the kind of story that should dominate headlines in any functioning political culture.
Thank you for everything. 💚💚💚 Tomorrow, there will be more of us.

What if the fix is easier than you think? Delayed telling building maintenance about my office door sticking because it wasn't a BIG problem and they'd have to take this big metal door off and add a shim to fix the situation and that's a lot of work and a big disruption...

It's a huge oversight that no one really offers craft/artisanal tater tots.
Dear GMail Team, there is a feature that would make me VERY happy and ensure I don't leave your platform. I need a way to turn of all AI writing help. The key combos are too similar and I end up destroying my draft with horribly written AI and don't have a good way to revert.
As a business owner I don't like that AI has removed a ton of traffic to our website but man it's nice to be able to use ChatGPT or something to simply FIND that one company you're thinking off based on a vague/weird description that Google came up with all the wrong things.
