Congratulations to Borjana Arsova, Stefan Sanow, and everyone involved! Very nice work and thanks for letting me be part of it. Nice evidence that beneficial microbes can help plants thrive under nitrogen limitation, not primarily via N fixation, but by improving how plants acquire and use nitrogen.

Excited to share that our work on VIH2-dependent inositol pyrophosphate signaling and arbuscular mycorrhiza is now out in Science Advances! In this study, we explore how VIH2 contributes to the regulation of AM in Lotus japonicus. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Lotus japonicus VIH2 is an inositol pyrophosphate synthase that regulates arbuscular mycorrhiza

Inositol pyrophosphate messengers regulate arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis and phosphate uptake in Lotus japonicus.

Sequencing of the whole human genome was completed in 2003 at estimated costs of $ 2.7 billion. Nowadays you can sequence a whole human genome for less than $ 1000. To achieve an accuracy compareable to the 2003 genome sequence costs would be today around $ 10 - 20 million. bsky.app/profile/hoch...

Yesterday 25 years ago, the first human chromosome (chr. 22) was sequenced. Back then, sequencing of the second smallest chromosome took them almost 10 years!

There are already many articles for which there is more attention on Bluesky than on other comparable micro-blogging sites, meaning the academic community and the general public have clearly adopted Bluesky as one of its core places to disseminate and discuss new research. A Place of Joy.
