Hey @piperformissouri.bsky.social, do you have some recommendations for voters in Kansas City for tomorrow?
You have to see "I Want Your Sex" @dansavage.bsky.social Twisted and hilarious, with Olivia Wilde as an artist, and Cooper Hoffman as an intern.
I saw the new film The Odyssey by Christopher "Mumbles" Nolan. I enjoyed it quite a lot, but as usual, having a caption unit helped quite a lot. AMC BarryWoods 24 #filmsky #theOdyssey
Last night, I shot a performance by the School of Rock AllStars, the very best musicians from more than 300 locations around the Us and other countries. youtu.be/EZOfoUtWzoM

I'm getting caught up on previous episodes of the who cares about the Rock Hall podcast @evelynmcdonnell.bsky.social and was very pleased to hear you bring up Katell Keineg. My late wife played her quite frequently on her radio show.
Here in Kansas City, it's $20 a month for four films a week. If I see all four films in a particular week, that brings each movie down to $1.83.
shout out to AMC A-List, the subscription I refuse to get rid of the most
I just listened to your appearance on @twit.tv "This Week in Tech" @jp2e.bsky.social. I learned so much from you about the smart home and locks.
Happy hundredth birthday to Mel Brooks! Not just funny, but a real mensch. He not only agreed to be interviewed for Lisa Hurwitz's film about the Automat, he gave her a bunch of really great filmmaking advice…and wrote and sang a theme song for it!

I'm looking at this as a replacement for my brother's 2000 Ford Ranger which is on its second transmission, and it doesn't do anything except carry appliances and move a ton of gravel occasionally, and has never approached a hundred miles in a day. One I can charge overnight at 3 cents kw/hour.
It's a normal, cheap EV truck. I think we're about to find out how many people don't actually want a huge vehicle.
I just ordered a three month supply of nine different medications from Mark Cuban's Cost Plus drugs for *less* than the copay my insurance company demands! I know some people have issues with him, but realistically this is the best thing any billionaire has ever done for me. @mcuban.bsky.social
Listening to @twit.tv "Media Club with Micah" about "The Fifth Element". Milla Jovovich is also a very talented singer-songwriter, so Leo was correct when he pointed out that she was a rockstar. youtu.be/fQ_I_aWsaRM?...

A piece of data on the efficacy of hypnosis, @dansavage.bsky.social My late mother delivered me and two of my sisters under hypnosis. No drugs, the osteopath implanted the post-hypnotic suggestion that she would feel no pain and that it would be a beautiful experience. She swore that it was true.
There's a 12-ft tall bridge in Kansas City, that inspired some pretty awesome art:
There are many bad things but one that is giving me joy: Our notorious underpass known as the Can Opener (because it will skin the top off semis that go under it) has eaten five trucks in 36 hours thanks to an interstate closure. The Can Opener is well fed. My city will prosper this year.
We need to bring the Japanese film "Exit 8" back, and do a double feature with that and "Backroom".
Listening to the Material podcast, and Andy @ihnatko.bsky.social bemoaned not being able to go in and change all of his past tech predictions. Could be worse! I was working for Forrester Research which memorably titled one of their reports "Amazon.Toast"
People who don't believe Robert Pattinson can act have never seen "Good Time".
Robert Pattinson makes movies like he's doing penance for TWILIGHT. My bud, if that's what it takes, that's fine, but you've done the work. You got nothing to prove.
Could I ask you to include my friend Mardi in your prayers @padresj.bsky.social? She's in St Luke's hospital in Kansas City Missouri.
My favorite line about that was "What machine did you think they were raging against? The dishwasher?"
I always wonder which machine they think ratm was raging against. Or hell, let's go back almost a century and woody Guthrie was a massive influence on lot of musicians It's not exactly far out there material that one has to search hard for
If you get a chance, read Roger Corman's autobiography "How I Made 100 Films in Hollywood (and never lost a dime)" He convinced Hamill to do this film, in exchange for his first directing gig. "Do this film for me, and you'll never have to work for me again!" @markhamillofficial.bsky.social
Huh, @socalgecko.bsky.social pointed out to me that this movie exists. I had never heard of it. And now I know that Annie Potts was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in this film.
I managed to see all four of my AMC A*List films this week. My subscription costs me $21.98 per month. If I see four films every week, each film costs me $1.83. Yeah, I'm seeing brand new films on a giant screen for less than the cost of most streaming services. And then includes 3D, IMAX & Dolby.
Just saw my dentist for my yearly check up. I'm 65, and I'm doing surprisingly well with my tooth and gum health. I take a daily streptococcus salivarius K12 supplement, mainly to reduce the possibility of Covid infections, but it's apparently done wonders for my overall oral health.
The funny part is, nobody has actually flipped a burger at McDonald's in 30 years. They have a top grill that comes down on top of the bottom grill, cooking both sides at once. youtube.com/shorts/D72JG...

americans talk so disparagingly of burger flipping.. as if it's not their most sacred food..
How I remain covid safe while seeing movies. I'm retired, so I can see them on less popular days, like Mondays. I wear a @flomask.bsky.social in public areas of the theater. And the air quality at AMC is excellent:
I can't get over Running Up That Hill becoming a pop hit in the US. My late wife and I met in 1982 because we were both huge Kate Bush fans, and thought nobody in the Midwest had ever heard of her. I'm getting teary-eyed eating breakfast in the McDonald's hearing it on the background music.
I know you said besides World War II, and I apologize, but if you don't know about Operation Fortitude and GARBO…the greatest liar the world has ever known. Created 27 fictitious agents Helped crack Enigma Vital part of D-Day Winning top honors from BOTH sides! It sounds insane but it's all true!

ENGAGEMENT BAIT: what would you watch a 20-part documentary series about (besides world war II)
I'm getting caught up on @twit.tv Intelligent Machines. Guest Ian Bogost discussed the idea of intellectual property. I was reminded of what Thomas Jefferson said about the idea:
As predicted by @dansavage.bsky.social - who has been urging his readers and listeners to stock up, even if they are not people who have PiV sex, for their friends, family, and loved ones.
Most people who have an abortion use mifepristone. Blocking access to it isn’t about safety—it’s about control. We won’t stop fighting until everyone can get the care they need, no matter where they live.
I'm going to take a day of #groundsource #heatpump training tomorrow with my brother. I don't have any business reason to do so, I just would like to know more about the subject. Hopefully I will be knowledgeable enough to answer questions.
