We get a good look at the cart with bottles of (alcoholic) beverages in Pike's quarters in #StarTrekSNW's "Valles Marineris"⬆️ and "The Griffin Incident"⬇️. One of them is a bottle of Saurian brandy. Colourwise, it more resembles the one seen on #DS9 and not the ones that appeared in #StarTrekTOS.

#StarTrekDS9's "Fascination" has many nice shots of the decorated Promenade. This one also features the odd Bajoran sign with a highly stylized cut-out of the Bajoran emblem. We'll talk about those Gratitude Festival banners and flags tomorrow... :-)

Here's a nice cross-section of the Constitution-class USS Griffin, as seen in #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident".

One thing I like about the remastering of #StarTrekTNG is how the Romulan warbird shots now have a uniform hull colour. In "Redemption II" on DVD in SD ⬅️, there are two shots (mere seconds apart) with vastly different hull colours. This is fixed in the remastered HD version ➡️. 1/2

I like how #StarTrekSNW (and other new #StarTrek shows) keep the tradition alive of re-using everyday 20th/21st century objects, like the transparent garden hose used as an energy conduit/cable in "The Griffin Incident"⬆️. "Who Mourns for Adonais?"⬇️ also features such 20th century circuits + cables.

Doing a little more research on the disturbing footage in #StarTrekVOY's "Random Thoughts", I nmoticed that the shot of a hand holding a dagger in ront of a fire ⬆️ was originally seen in the 1982 "The Beastmaster"⬇️ film with Marc Singer. 1/2

Here are some shots of the Enterprise shuttle Alvarez, lost in the #StarTrekSNW episode "The Griffin Incident". The shuttle might be named after Luis Walter Alvarez and his son Walter who formulated the Alvarez hypothesis... 1/2

Here's a comparison of Picard facing off with Sela's Romulan warbird in the original ⬆️ and remastered ⬇️ versions of #StarTrekTNG's "Redemption II". Particularly the lighting and the hull colour of the warbird look so much better in HD.

Many people were commenting on similarities between the latest #StarTrekSNW episode "The Griffin Incident" and the film "Event Horizon". A reminder: the #StarTrekVOY episode "Random Thoughts"➡️ featured three shots from the film ⬅️ which had debuted in cinemas only three months earlier...🤯

#StarTrekDS9's "Fascination" features a really close look at the Bajoran emblem seen on the entrance ring of the Bajoran temple on #DS9's Promenade.

#StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident"⬆️ featured several horror elements seen in similar ways in earlier #StarTrek series and films. One was the horrific transporter accident seen in "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"⬇️. "What we got back didn't live long, ...fortunately." 🙈

We don't often see the Constitution class shuttlebay of the USS Enterprise on #StarTrekSNW, so here are the two shots we get of the USS Griffin shuttlebay in "The Griffin Incident". All the shuttles gone, ideed!

#StarTrekDS9's "Fascination" gives us several interesting appearances of the Bajoran emblem. Let's begin with these two shots showing the illuminated Bajoran emblem at the entrance to the Bajoran temple on the Promenade. :-)

The USS Griffin did "its thing" right from the start of #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident". Notice how pristine the ship looks (after 8 years in a debris field) when it is first discovered by the shuttle crew ⬆️ and how it actually looks at the end of the episode ⬇️ (I pixelated Sam Kirk).

Both elements of this bridhe shot in #StarTrekTNG's "Redemption II"⬅️ were created for earlier episodes. The frontal shot of the warbird, seen on the viewscreen, comes from "The Mind's Eye"↗️ and the bridge footage, showing ops, conn and the viewscreen, comes from "First Contact"↘️.

I loved these little "boy scout" moments in #StarTrek II: The Wrath of Khan"⬇️➡️ and #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident"⬆️. My friend Moni's reaction (married to my friend Jan for two decades): Wives do NOT know everything about their husbands... ;-)

I know we've had plenty of Klingon zombies in last season's #StarTrekSNW episode “Shuttle to Kenfori”, but I just love this skeletal Klingon staring at La'An in engineering on the USS Griffin in "The Griffin Incident". :-)

#StarTrekDS9's "Defiant" not only gives us a return appearance of Thomas Riker but a nice look at Kira's Bajoran rank pin and a side view of her combadge, both shaped like the Bajoran emblem. 👌 Kira is mighty confued, it seems. 😅

#StarTrekTNG's "Night Terrors" is one of my favourite #TNG episodes ⬇️. I loved the visual similarity between the TNG shot and this shot in #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident"⬆️. "Eyes in the dark...one moon...circles!" :-)

#StarTrekTNG's "Redemption II" (1st row) features the return of a TNG-style Klingon d'k tahg, earlier seen in "Sins of the Father"⬅️↙️ and "The Bonding"➡️. In "Redemption I" (2nd row), a d'k tahg that looks more like the original prop from "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock"↘️ was used.

Here are shots of the USS Thorn, pulling the USS Griffin with its tractor beam in #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident"↖️. After tugs in #StarTrekDS9's "A Time to Stand"➡️ and in #StarTrekDSC's "Brother"↙️ (both kitbashed) did the same in earlier episodes, this is the first non-kitbash tug doing so. 😊

Here are the space shots that we get of (the original) Sol V and its two moons and the cool planetary graphic with all the basic facts about the planet, as seen in last week's #StarTrekSNW episode "The Griffin Incident".

The shot of the USS Enterprise-D facing a Romulan warbird in #StarTrekTNG's "Redemption II"⬆️ was originally created for season 4's "Data's Day"⬇️. As can be seen, one warbird was removed for the re-use in the season 5 opener.

It's rather spooky and uncanny (befitting the episode) how La'An predicts David Marcus' eventual demise in "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" in this week's #StarTrekSNW's episode "The Griffin Incident" 🙈.

#StarTrekDS9's "Meridian gives us the very first #StarTrek appearance of Jeffrey Combs as Tiron and this good look at the Bajoran emblem (this version being in place since mid-season 2) located at the entrance to the Bajoran temple on the Promenade.

The book that falls out of Kirk's bag in #StarTrekSNW's "The Griffin Incident" is the 2021 edition of "Master and Commander" by Patrick O'Brian. One of my friends will be very happy when we watch the episode later together on #StarTrek night. He always talks about the similarities between both.

Here are some images of the Dol'drm puppet in the sleeper pod in #StarTrekSNW's "Valles Marineris". They eyes definitely look very humanoid/vertebrate to me.

These two shots from #StarTrekDS9's "Civil Defense" (one of my favourite #DS9 episodes) gives us a nice look at Kira's combadge, her major rank pin and a Bajoran phaser pistol, all featuring more or less stylized versions of the Bajoran emblem.

Swapping out a shuttle pod for a sauropod is some stellar wordplay, SNW

The shot of the shuttle launch (part of the #StarTrekSNW opening credits since season 3 and also seen in 4x01, 1st pic) is replaced in "The Griffin Incident" by a dinosaur shot (2nd pic). These are the same sauropods also seen in the previous eoisode (3rd pic). Which species do you think this is? 🤔
