"Algorithms are rewarding volume and familiarity over quality or originality. Taste-driven decisions – the kind that once gave unusual games a fighting chance – have been quietly replaced by metrics." Well hello, that's what GameCrawler is fighting!

The industry makes great games, but nobody can find them

Algorithms built to surface content are increasingly rewarding volume, familiarity, and short-term engagement over quality or originality

Hey Bsky, I'm Dan! Long-time gamer and gamedev. Started my journey on the C64, from PacMan to Maniac Mansion. Now fan of any games with rewarding progression. Struggling a bit to find fellow curious and open-minded gamers around here. Help? 🎮👾🙏 #lfg #gamedev #promosky

#promosky Hi I'm Sam. I have cerebral palsy and play games by tapping buttons with my mouth. I Love to post what I'm currently playing & Boss fights. Huge fan of Soulsborne Rpgs-Jrpgs Stealth Simulator And Adventure games. 🩵 & 🔄 appreciated.

Nah, I'm in love. 😭 Mortal shell 2 is fire. The dungeon designs with pressure plates, fakes walls, magic mirrors are me. I'm literally a thief with a invisible backstab right now. These enemies are creepy The sound design crunchy. It's release dates abit bluegh I'll be on Mgs4 but, eventually.

Highly anticipated The Relic: First Guardian is bombing at launch and at 50$, players feel scammed. They mention clunky combat and menus, lifeless dialogues, weak optimization. They had 250k wishlists ahead of the launch, but will probably not convert much. Why do you think this keeps happening?

July 16 has quite the release lineup! All different genres too: adventure, visual novel, action adventure, platformer, RPG, strategy. Personally very intrigued by Mermaid Mask (a fully voiced point'n'click murder mystery) and Moss (the cutest sword-wielding mouse in history).

I hope Nintendo is seeing the sales of Tomodachi Life and Rhythm Heaven and looking at their devs with a clearer direction of “make your games weirder with more little freaks”

It may not seem like much to many of you but GameCrawler has reached its first 100 users in a few days since announcing it 🥳 (tho I've been working on it in the dark for a while now). The positive comments some of you wrote have been especially motivating. TY so much to all early adopters! 🙏
