Software hardware hacky guy. I like game programming, old cameras, old AV equipment, woodworking, cats, techno remixes of Touhou music, and that one Garfield panel where Jon asks why they call it oven I made an open source console: https://gametank.zone
really want to make a fishing game that includes more of the fishing experience. like how did you tie your line? where did you plant your feet? how early did you get up? how many hours of practice did you lose attending your kid's graduation?
so actually apps can do basically whatever they want in their draw handler
Trying to decide if it would be funnier for rear expansion port devices to daisy-chain or to make a big backplane that they slot into ...Thats a lie actually I'm trying to figure out how to make it be both
I think I'm gonna have to write a simulator library that generates PS/2 messages from SDL input events. And importantly it has to fail accurately because the adapter does *not* abstract out the packet timing
wow mouse movement is so much smoother when you check to see if it has sent any other packets this frame besides the one you just processed
mouse cable: has PS/2 connector cable traffic: formatted PS/2 mouse microcontroller: yeah but it stopped for a second so maybe during that time the port magically became USB
can't seem to convince this PS/2 mouse to be a PS/2 mouse and not a USB mouse >:(
here's more about that keyboard/mouse adapter I was posting

reading Seagate's ATA reference manual and getting all kinds of wonderful ideas
i mean yeah when youre organized you don't have to look for stuff very long but when you're cluttered there's a chance you dont even have to leave your chair
irl quests have way too many time gates wym i gotta wait for email replies? of course they'd make it take real time for glue to dry the parts ship tomorrow? like actual 24 hours??? smh the devs of this game really dont respect your time
The CY7C65213 is a pin compatible replacement for the FT232RL and for the most part it just works which would be great except... why oh why oh why must it suddenly go thermonuclear heat mode when I push the reset button on my board?????
i can't believe nobody selling this sensor module thought the distance between the mounting holes would be a good thing to include in the description
Finally updated the through-hole #gametank motherboard design to have the same expansion port as the surface mount version. Let's hope it works!
what the hell? kicad just overwrote a ton of symbol fields with --mixed values--
"in hopes that people would use [CueCat] to scan specially marked bar codes to visit Internet sites. (How this was easier than a typing a link, the company never did answer.)" Time's "50 Worst Inventions" blurb about the CueCat is hilarious now because they clearly didn't see QR codes coming
wait if I make a PS/2 interface module for the GameTank it'll work with the :CueCat
>:( literally just one part I needed to finish the gametank I'm sending for EMC retest
I wanna see an RPG model crafting as deeply as it models its combat like wouldn't it be cool if every sword smithed and potion brewed was its own "encounter"? if I think about this too long I might accidentally prototype it but if anybody knows similar examples I'd love to see 'em
game consoles went straight from composite to hdmi svideo and component "existed" sure but what TVs had them? thats right only the fancy big TV your dad bought and wouldn't let you play games on because the salesman claimed it would get screen burn the instant you plugged an xbox in
