Does anyone else who does semi-public facing game reviews find themselves struggling writing about games with defined/proven genres? I finished Dusk this afternoon, and I’m struggling on what to say as useful review/critique.

Something that's mildly fascinating to me is that I would have never clocked Deltarune as being New England/New Hampshirey.... because I've lived a majority of my life there the place/names just seem "correct". I always forget fall foliage isn't a world wide thing.
DELTARUNE TAKES PLACE IN MASSACHUSETTS I'M NOT LETTING ANYONE FORGET IT THIS IS THE ONLY THEORY THAT MATTERS!!!
For anyone more legal savy then me, and curious, lawyers seem to be a group named Zealous Advocates (www.z-advocates.com). The three lawyers listed on the complaint appear all be associated with them.

I went to the Maine Renn Faire, and it was cool, and also did you know Cheese Divination is a thing? Because I did not know it was a thing.
The Maine Renaissance Faire - Gametrodon
I went to the Maine Renaissance Faire, and while I did not eat a turkey leg, I did learn about divination via cheese.

If your social media facing persona came to life as a separate entity, one with all of your successes and glories and none of your quiet moments of sadness and emptiness.... do you think you could beat them in a fight?
For my money, I liked tactical breach wizards a bit more, but both of these are great! gametrodon.com/titanium-cou... gametrodon.com/tactical-bre...
Titanium Court - Gametrodon
Titanium Court is a fascinating combo of match-3 and strategy game set in the perculiar Faerie castle of the Titanium Court. I like it a lot.

I've been playing through Dusk, but the music wasn't really working for me, so I've been playing other stuff in the background. To make a long story short: Playing a DOOM style shooter while listening to Ed Sheeran's Perfect is possibly the state of mind farthest possible from zen.
I don't like Moon Colony Bloodbath. I find its gameplay miserable, its art static and dull. It provides neither the satisfaction of fictional buildup, or a particularly amusing black comedy. (Everyone I've played this loves it. Take this as you will.) gametrodon.com/grump-week-m...
Grump Week - Moon Colony Bloodbath - Gametrodon
Moon Colony Bloodbath might win the Spiel. I hate the gameplay, I loathe the art, and just overall do not like this game.

Automated hold system straight up just told me I could get help in "2854.11 minutes". I have so many problems with every part of this interaction.
First you draw the mouth, then you dot the eyes, add a great big circle and presto its kirb- No. No wait. That's not him. I don't know who that is. #Kirby
Writing tip: Give your protagonist a pet cat. In the final pages, shift to the cat's point of view. Follow the cat outside, through moonlit woods, to a pasture where cows kneel in worship around a glowing spacecraft. As the cat trots up its gangway, we glimpse in the windows an all-cat crew.
There's no such thing as "objective." I have no problem with a designer rating their game a 10. I have a problem with somebody review-bombing a game they haven't touched.
For anyone who hasn’t heard of this before, it’s tournament arc! I wrote a bit about it last year. I really like it. gametrodon.com/tournament-a...
Tournament Arc - Gametrodon
Tournament Arc is an incredibly funny game inspired by sports anime, in which someone breaking their arm is the least of your problems.

Sol Cesto is looks incredible, and plays well, but I have an axe to grind with how it handled meta progression. gametrodon.com/sol-cesto/

So I was gonna write about why I don't like American Comics, but part 1 ended up being a list of exceptions to the list instead, so here's a bunch of cool webcomics and stuff you should read. gametrodon.com/a-rant-about...
A Rant About Comics p1. - Grump Week - Gametrodon
Here's a bunch of great comics you should read. No really, part one is just about the good stuff you might be missing.

Didn't too hot in this months Once Upon A Galaxy monthly tourney, but for the very first time, one of my buddies fully cleared day 2, so that's pretty cool!
Something I find weird is how much I dislike American comics. Like, I spent part of this weekend reading a bunch of superhero crap, and also all of Something Is Killing The Children, and I don’t like either very much on a lot of different levels.
