About 90% of the correspondence I get through my website these days is from AI scambots, to the extent that I've considered removing the contact page entirely. But occasionally a genuine message comes through that makes it all feel worth it. This one (with a few spoilers redacted) made me smile.

Message I just finished ready the second Notwitches book with my 6 year old and she loved it so much she wanted to write you a note: Dear Gary Panton which notwitches book took longer the first book or the second book. I loved the first and second book I think I will love ❤ the third book.It was a very big shock went the REDACTED. My favourite characters were the notwitch family and rolo he was very sweet and funny 😁 .I am very Excited for the third book. I loved how there was a REDACTED and i was shocked thank you for the amazing 🤩 book it was a great 👍 book 📖 and It was so good i loved it. Yes. Do tell me again how I get tariffed and red taped to the point of not being able to trade at ALL with the US or EU for pennies, but apparently an AI company can steal my IP and literally destroy rare priceless literature to train its plagiarism machine with impunity. Make it make sense

Today I went to Currys with the intention of buying a specific laptop I'd seen there last week, only to be told that even though it's still on display in the shop, they no longer sell that model. This really does not seem like the best way to convince people to shop in stores instead of online.

Bill Oddie, what a lovely bloke. He wrote us a letter when we started making The Young Ones, wishing us the very best, and warning us against interference from higher up. He didn’t know anyone in the cast personally. It just came out of the blue. Lovely thing to do.

Okay one more odyssey post. Really loved the movie. But I for one am willing to stop rescuing Matt Damon. At some point we’re just going to have to collectively agree that if Matt Damon gets lost again we just have to let him go.
