Rocks & Plants & Birds & Things

A loose harmony of shifting energies since 13.9B BCE: The Coyotacious Now.

Airport bar, sitting next to a ~renowned mixologist who tried to hire me 3 yrs ago for job w literally impossible goals & I declined to waste his lechuga. He doesn’t recognize me, new beard. He’s 📞 interviewing someone RIGHT NOW for the same deadend gig. Good luck, all y’all.

Also, I adopted a couple 45+-yo framed batik desert/bird scenes that were favorite art in my childhood home. Promptly jailbroke and dewax-ironed so I could mail them home, and now they’re prettier than ever. Found out the artist is still around. Should I contact them…? 🏜️

Ffffff. Finally going home after 10-ish days of intense family stuff. I’m exhausted, I’m impoverished, I’m not done with everything I came here to do. Elderly family member has 40+ years of stuff in this house, and we’ve worked thru maybe 80% of it, not counting legal schtuffff. I’m fried.

The whole point of the Bill of Rights is to protect the only true minority - the individual. It limits the governments power to harm the individual. The whole constitution is designed to limit the governments power.

This comic nails something I say all the time. I never stop loving whom I’ve loved, even if our amity never returns. Estranged friends are still loved, former partners are still dear to my heart. Tectonic forces may distance us, but can never sever completely the energy that brought us together 💞

It also spawned a new minor god, the smallpox kami or demon: 'hōsōgami'. They were angry ghosts who could be appeased by shrines in homes with smallpox, special songs & dances. They feared dogs & the color red, so homes would cover their doors with red cloth/prints, keep dogs tied near entrances.

Driving away the Demons, From the Thirty-six Ghosts series. 9.25" x 14.25". The print depicts Minamoto no Tametomo driving away demons.

Just woke from a very vivid Project Hail Mary dream, my brain’s fanfic I guess, where Gosling-as-Grace’s shipped wardrobe included an actual fox fullsuit, which he wore (both headless & complete) thru much of the new material. And by he I mean me, bc it’s my dream so obv I get to be the star

As someone who has never been a professional chef or cook, I am delighted that so many people in my life will simply Iron-Chef me with zero notice, and that I’m always able to pull a rabbit out of the hat. I will never ever ever complain when someone asks me to cook. I fucking love being asked.

My grandparents 100 years ago were busy being born, but at my age my grandfathers were driving cattle or piloting warplanes. 100 yrs ago, one great-grandfather was also driving cattle (like generations before), one a photographer, one probably on a boat here from Norway, and one a pro pitcher.

Enough “what would you do on the commune questions” If you got sent back 100 years and were given your grandparent’s job, what are you doing?

It is now two hours since I woke from the dream where the Mexican Mafia moved into my folks’ house (with us in it) and I am still recovering from all the adrenaline. I would really like to fall back asleep and dream about walking dogs or canoeing or something completely else, but I’m afraid.
