I think I'm starting to learn that I don't find the visual novel genre underwhelming so much as the visual novels I associate exclusively as visual novels and not sim/adv games just have really boring ways of presenting its writing to the player.

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to rethink how I'm doing this part of the project. Appropriate this is what's giving me the most trouble though; of everything, I'm the least familiar with like, making a character move right.

Gamedev people: Is it normal for mapping out conditionals for player interactions on objects to be incredibly finicky? I'm going in and out of locking the player into animations for sitting, and making sure they can't move without standing back up first and I feel like I'm missing an Easy Button.
