I think this is week 3 of this heat dome? Too much humidity so my swamp cooler doesn't keep up. It's already 81 in my house at just after noon. 😭 Evaporative cooling works at its very best when the humidity is 10% or below. With daytime humidity of 25%-35%, it cuts the cooling capability in half.

Weather forecast Mon-Sun this week:
107℉
106℉
104℉

The air is too damn hot.

Poor Finn. Even with a double donut he could still reach his incision. Poodles have REALLY long necks and are very flexible. Went to PetSmart and got the cone of shame. I didn't want to because he's a juggernaut and is going to kill us all with that thing. At least he can't reach the incision now.

Finnegan got neutered on Monday and I had to take him to the vet today because incision was really red. Apparently the surgical suit we got him was chafing, and the donut I had would not keep Mr. Giraffe Neck from licking his incision. So now he is double donut boy.

A cream 9-month-old standard poodle puppy. He is surprisingly happy for a dog that just got neutered. He is wearing a gray "donut" around his neck to keep him from licking himself, and because he has a giraffe neck he is wearing a second, blue donut.

Finnegan is at the vet today for his neuter surgery. Hoping it goes well, I worry every time one of my pets has to go under anesthesia. I asked the vet to give me some meds to keep him calm/sleepy for the first few days because that boy is NON-STOP.

A close-up photo of a nine-month-old cream standard poodle puppy. He has a fluffy topknot and a fluffy "mustache". He's looking up at me with his head tilted to one side because I made a funny noise. He's adorable!

"Intense physical therapy" for a fall that didn't injure him and a "mild case of pneumonia." I get pneumonia can worsen, but why would there be intense physical therapy for pneumonia? Do they even care about getting their story straight?

A statement from Mitch McConnell released by his office says he’s still undergoing “intense physical therapy” and will miss the Fancy Farm political event this Saturday.

I need caffeine but it's too hot to make coffee, and I'm too pathetic to just drive to the coffee shop for an iced coffee. That would mean I would have actually get dressed in street clothes and THAT'S too hot. 😭 Also it's only 10am and this summer sucks.

Had to take my 23 Crosstrek in to the dealer because the AC wasn't working well AT ALL. Turns out there's a crack in the compressor and the parts won't be in until the 30th. They gave me a fully loaded 26 Outback and I am going to be so sad to go back to my own car. This thing has cooled seats. 🤯

Forecast high? 106 Temp in my house? 80 What am I doing? Baking a goddamn cherry pie because fresh cherries and hubby giving me sad puppy dog eyes because I haven’t made a cherry pie in a decade.

I know it sucks to do and that being the bigger person is literally torture but we do kind of have to limit how much we shit on people for being late to quit Twitter.
