My opinions are mine. I only speak for me and maybe my dogs. Once loved by a dog named Blossom. Be a voice not an echo - Albert Einstein | gemma.5193 in GW2 | profile is Percy P. http://bit.ly/3UQWyKf https://linktr.ee/gemma.babbler

I am very grateful for all the lovely people I have had the joy of interacting with here on bsky, and the bunch of you that I interact with elsewhere too. Thank you. It has been a sad few weeks and the kindness has meant a lot.

Tonight I signed Percy up to be a doggy blood donor. It was something Blossom could never do due to a bought with Lyme and anaplasmosis. I hope he is able to join the program and help other canines in need.

The idea of doing community shout outs is great and all, but the drawback is people can, and often will, get left out/forgotten.

13 years ago today my son broke his elbow crashing down onto a plush mattress covered in blankets and squishy stuffed animals. This one event still entirely encapsulates our lived experience so well. Thankfully he has broken no bones since. How? That's a mystery for the universe to know.

I spent the spring semester studying the history of journalism by incarcerated writers in the United States, plus why it is such a critical thing to support voices coming from a world as opaque as the US prison system. Prison Journalism Project inspired my project and assisted my project.

People have been so kind about my post regarding grief and losing Blossom. I have so many stories about her. Would you like to hear them? This is a dog who traveled a lot of her life with us, side by side. She has been in planes, trains, buses, cars, boats, always unflappable.

A darkish colored standard poodle in a short clip is on a dark couch with a sky blue blanket on it. She is curled into a tight ball against pillows and blankets and hugging a Lampchop stuffed sheep toy, her chin resting on one of its legs. Don't let this image fool you - this girl was lanky like all of her poodle brethren.

This popped off. I am trying to wander through the comments because so, so many of you have been so kind. Thank you. Blossom was a remarkable dog. It is hard to find my footing again after the loss of my right hand girl. It will come, I know, but it will take time. She left a wonderful legacy.

Blossom, a salt and pepper (blue) standard poodle with a fluffy coat, sits center of the picture on a plush bed of grass and such as a black puppy crawls over her outstretched front legs. Both she and the puppy have their tongues lolling. To the left of frame there is a little cream colored puppy with a black nose scooting towards Mama Blossom. A person with a grey t-shirt and jeans sits in the background at a short distance.

Grief is a fickle, miserable thing. It’s heavier when you’re constantly scared of being mocked when you say your sorrow is about your dog. That dog loved me more than most people I’ve ever known. I will struggle with her loss for a very long time.

Last year, @marisakabas.bsky.social included us in her "independent journalism" gift guide. Consider this your sign, Bluesky. We train incarcerated writers and publish their works. If you've been thinking about supporting us, we'd love your help reaching our summer campaign goal. #ijs

#GW2 friends: I am replaying the Tower of Nightmares in Living World Season 1. We are stymied by the Forgal fight. Any tips? Any recommended guides? Because all we did tonight was get turned into smudges on the ground again and again even with a small group.

You don't have to make fun of disabled people to make fun of Trump. You do not have to make fun of sick children (calling him a Make a Wish kid) to make fun of Trump. There are so many available and cutting things you can say about that ever melting pile of lard without doing harm to innocents.

These are not that hard to make! I made one a few years ago and need to obviously get fresh filters. I got a great deal on a 4 pack of them back then. That's a great start. The cardboard from the box the fan comes in can be enough, but if you have extra it'll help make the cover around the fan.

I wrote a thing about Withers, an unexpected conversational partner, a bunch of flowers and a night chatting in a cemetary. It is not as weird as it sounds, I swear. This is for @bg3flowerzine.bsky.social ! archiveofourown.org/works/87700631 (Published here for collection reasons) #BG3 #Withers

"WHY DID YOU HURT THE STUFFED ANIMAL/RAVEN" Two different pieces, two very similar misreads across several readers in different groups. The stuffed animal was thrown in the trash in a dream sequence. It was actually more than fine in reality. The raven was never hurt. That was a weird note.

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.

This house still has multiple humans and one exuberant canine and yet it feels so, so quiet. No jingle jingle of the tags on her collar as she patrolled the house. No click clack of nails on the floor. No boofs, no awoos, no gentle boop of a nose off my side as a check in throughout the day.
