The best thing about having a cricut is my ability to now make the dumbest stickers I can think of for my water bottle

I decided to learn how to do Lino block printing and this is my first effort. She’s a little rustic but I’m pretty proud of her.
I made a zine about what I thought the world might be like if it was Reme instead of Rome. You can read it here: gememberthat.itch.io/spqr (This is just for a bit please don’t take my masters away)

Wishing a happy birthday to my favourite Pisces (other than myself) Ovid.
Shout out to @davidrafferty.bsky.social for promoting me so I don’t have to ❤️ (I am quite proud of these though)
Some more by the same artist:
If there’s one thing I can do it’s make a bunch of niche South Australian references and I think that’s very funny of me. Is there a series of SA Amphorae niche bits? Maybe…
I'm obsessed with our logo art courtesy of @gemmaneall.bsky.social - get ready for the most stylish AMPHORAE conference yet

@gemmaneall.bsky.social @emchambs.bsky.social and I have great plans for the Australasian Women in Ancient World Studies (AWAWS) Adelaide chapter for 2025, can't wait to dig in with pre-conference practice sessions, coffee, drinks, movie and more!
My poor old laptop seems to be properly struggling now. The ol' boy has seen me through an undergrad, honours and mphil. He needs to rest.
Talking about Ovid and elegy are some of my favourite things to do and if you also love to do that and are living it up down under @shona22.bsky.social and I wanna hear from you!
Calling on Ovid and/or elegy people in Aus & NZ! @gemmaneall.bsky.social and I have been plotting an interest group so that we can get a cohort to keep up to date with International Ovidian Society events which are so northern hemisphere dominant. If you are interested in joining please let me know!
So excited for @chelschwartz.bsky.social ! She gave a great talk and it was awesome to watch her do so well
Presented at my first @ASCS1966 conference this week on Asclepiades of Bithynia, and was awarded runner up for the OPTIMA prize! Its been an incredibly validating, supportive and educational week. Looking forward to next year!
Out of interest, has anyone on here done or knows anyone who has done a combined classics and creative practice PhD? I’ve got thoughts…

Working on getting back in the good books after being away for a week at a very enjoyable ASCS conference
This is the longest I’ve been away from my cat since I brought him home and the instructions I’ve left for the cat sitter reflect this
Just over a year ago my friend asked me if I could look after this sick kitten she found while we found him a home. Turns out that home was mine and Wilfred and I are best buds. He’s fat and mean and I love him.
hello I have migrated over to bluesky username is gemmaneall
Very excited to have received the marks for my MPhil thesis back a few weeks ago accepted with no revisions! I haven’t spoken about it much because I’m still recovering from the idea that I finished it at all, but thought it a good way to ring in this new profile!
It has been a long journey, but it feels pretty good to finally have submitted my MPhil thesis. I'm proud of myself!
So I’m studying to be a teacher now and it’s been very interesting and I’m learning a lot but it’s so funny to speak to my retired teacher mother who is so annoyed w herself for throwing out 40+ years worth of teaching resources last year.
Losing my job suddenly has not been my favourite experience but at least the cat is pleased I’m home more.
It appears I’ve become the type of person who spends her long weekend making this for a cat
Happy trans day of visibility to all of my trans and gender diverse friends! And also my enemies! 🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️🏳️⚧️
