How many, or better how few, stages have we had in the #TdF2026 this year where the winner wasn't already known before the start of the stage? Not very much.
Did Gouvenou's crazy TdF stage 20 deliver on its promise? Not 1 jersey changed hands. Not 1 position change in the top 10. The "Everything will stil be possible" stage was a flop in that sense. And apart from Gouvenou, no one will be surprised. Not taking anything away from Carapaz and Kuss etc.
I can think of a few ways to make the #TdF more interesting at the top, but the Gouvenou way, ie ever more elevation gain metres and mountain top finishes with a minimal amount of time trial kms suiting only 60kg riders, is not one of them.

One person killed, 7 more injured. Residential buildings,an office building,vehicles,a dormitory, warehouses,a supermarket, &the entrance to a metro station were damaged.
