Sometimes I feel the pang of not going to conferences anymore, talking to interesting ppl, seeing *my people*, but then I look at the lineup of any conference that would be feasible for me to go to and just... LLM hype talk after talk, without fail, just completely ruins the concept of confs for me.

Another day, another story of an LLM-induced suicide. How tf can these people sleep at night knowing what they put out into the world. I just... don't get it? How *dare* we call ourselves software *engineers* when we don't take the most basic of engineering ethics principles into account.
