Well I just got dinged my a surprise £400 bill out of no where this morning. This might be the first time I may need to ask for help, trouble is I have no idea how I should do it or what site to use. This isn't a good feeling :/

Recovery is basically at the point where I am mostly fine. I can move around and do things, look after myself and generally do whatever on my own. My limitation now is stamina. Can’t move quick or over long distance without running out of breathe. That should be sorted next month. Can’t wait.

Life has taken me into a position the last few months where I feel like I should reach out to others for help. But then I also feel like my situation _pales_ in comparison to others/friends around me. My medical bills won’t crush me, I won’t be homeless, I just can’t get work. Is so small fry.

As more and more of my daily life returns to normal, I’ve been thinking about something that a friend said to me in VRC; That my time clock has essentialy restarted. That I ran my last life down and I’ve been given a second chance with ‘bonus’ time. And it makes me wonder what I’ll do different.

Getting much better though. Pain is mostly a dull throb, ache or itching which I am told is normal. Stitchings come out soon and are about 90% of the remaining discomfort and breathing is almost painless again. Just at the very very max capacity of my lung so I get pain. Still sleeping lots though.

Made the very silly mistake of just stopping Codine intake yesterday after a month of 4x 60mg a day. Yeah that was a mistake. First time experiencing withdrawal to medication and holy bejesus never again. Let’s try that again but tempered this time.

I did manage to get from my bed, to the bathroom and back again without getting out of breathe for the first time though so we’re getting there. Pain is also far less debilitating now.

Playing Resident Evil 2 remake while recovering is an experience. Dodging Mr X while wheezing in panic because I can’t yelp does kinda make his impact a little funnier, if no less terrifying.

Comfort much better, pain hugely reduced. Who’d have thought a foot and a half of quarter inch thick rubber tubing entering your lower back and snaking around your lung cavity would be uncomfortable. I wouldn’t wish all of this on my worst enemy. The psychological healing from this alone is nuts.

Please keep my fellow bird and dear friend @gillburd.online in your thoughts this morning. He's headed in for surgery on his lungs to treat bullous emphysema, which has put him in some really life-threatening scenarios in the last few weeks. We all love and care for ya, Gill. 💙

I just signed the final consent form for potential surgery tomorrow. My death risk is down to less than 1% but it’s still there so I need to say that I love you all. I’m very sure I’ll be fine but all the same you’ve all made my life wonderful and brought me joy. I’ll pull through though.

I am in so much pain. My chest is doing an owie. Least I’m in the specialist hospital now. Surgery will be Wednesday at the latest and assuming all goes well discharge will be Friday or Saturday
