Author, "The Screen & the Mirror," "Dorothy & Jack," "The Gospel in Dickens," & "One by One." I'm at https://dearstrangethings.substack.com/ and https://dickensblog.com. Beethoven fan, skating fan, Army brat, Pope Leo-quoting Protestant. #TCMParty #MST3K

I don't think either has shown up on Bluesky yet (not a surprise or a criticism given marketing team losses) but you can find the NSO musicians on Instagram at nso_musicians, and the Washington National Opera at washnatopera

“I realized I’m in the middle of a pedophile operation that has been run out of the N.I.H. by a Nobel laureate for thirty years.” Aviv has made a lot of choices in how she frames this story, and I'm not criticizing it (I am thinking about it), but burying this in the middle is one.

Read this new one by Rachel Aviv. It is astonishing, one of the best magazine stories I've read in a long time. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

Ironically enough Rosalind Russell, like her character in THE VELVET TOUCH, was looking to change up her career at the time she worked on this film. She ended up going to Broadway for the roles she wanted but she didn’t murder anybody ^PG #TCMParty #SUTS
