Was watching Sooty last night with @hippoofmidlothian.bsky.social, and there was a gag with an unknown man in the shop that went: "What did you say your name was?" "My name is Unimportant. Gerald Unimportant." Such a simple, stupid joke and it works so, so well.

It was literally thinking yesterday about how well the original DOOM still holds up. Still looks cool, sounds cool, and fun as hell to play. (and only took up about 6MB!) Remember how big Lemmings was, and now there's not been a new one in too long, besides a few mobile game attempts.

Apart from DOOM, any computer game before 1995 is basically long-forgotten arcane knowledge. I remember when they made a book with 1001 games you must play and it didn't have a single King's Quest but listed all the GTAs & Mario Karts.

Thinking about this some more, and it's funny that The Hobbit got mocked for stretching a single 300 page book out to three full length movies, yet here they're getting a full movie out of the 'Ghost of Christmas Past' section.
