#Laval SaturdayMarket, about 60 minutes from #Gite-Milvain. There are carparks at the top of the hill, about 300m from the old fort and upper market. We found the centre carpark more accessible, also nearer to shops, cafes, etc

#Desertines is a small village in the commune, with a church (Saint Pierre) and an inviting pub (Red Lion, which has a visiting fast meal van and occasional live music). About 8km from #Gite-Milvain
#MangesTout was an English/Irish food supplier in #Gorron, sadly now closed. Outside, there were mural reproductions of London and Paris, constructed from bread, biscuits and vegetables, photographed from real scenes, NOT AI ! There was also a small, cheery cafe.
#Cancale in 2023, a short day trip from #Gite-Milvain. Cancale is renowned for seafood and much favoured for wild #FlatOysters and farmed #CuppedOysters. (read more)
#Bagnoles de l'Orne is a pretty village in the Alencon administrative, about 35 minutes from #GiteMilvain, by the Foret #d'Andaines. There are shops, a hotel, restaurants, forest rail trips, picnic areas, a racecourse and casino.Bagnoles is the only #ThermalSpa town in #Normandie

In 2022 we visited the #DevilsTable (La Table du Diablo) near #PassaisVillages. The road to #Mantilly out of Passais la Concepcion passes within 1km of the megalithic edifice, dating from 3200 - 2200BC. Undeveloped site, with space for a few cars

In 2021, we moved in and were "adopted" by Pudden. She was emaciated, with an eye infection and dodgy teeth. Two years later, she was much healthier, put on weight, grown her coat and enjoyed sunbathing in her "retirement".

#Arromanches-les-Bains has been awarded #UNESCO #World #Heritage status. There are remains of the #MulberryHarbour and a museum in the village, all a reasonable drive from #Gite-Milvain

The former station near #Chatillon-Sur-Colmont, actually 1km away in the hamlet of #Montaudin - found by walking a short forest track from La Petite Gare Gite. The line was commissioned in 1881 and closed, in stages, between 1934 and 1987.

#Gorron about 10 minutes from #Gite-Milvain is a small town with a big supermarket, shops, restaurants, a grand Church (Saint Martin, 150 years old) and a strong sporting history ( #cycling, #Boules)
#Ernee has arguably the biggest and best Motocross circuit in #Europe. Unfortunately, although only 20 minutes from #Gite-Milvain, we missed events every time we have passed by.
#ChatillonEnVendelais is about 50 minutes from #Gite-Milvain. It has a leisure park and huge lake set in #Bretagne countryside.
