I was getting a bit concerned by all the people who created AI saying that AI will probably kill everyone in the next few years but then I just saw Donald Trump say there's nothing to worry about so that's a big PHEW!

Tonight’s ‘up the potters’ soundtrack has revolved around Junior Murvin, Thin Lizzy and the Human League. You can’t call it contemporary but you can call it fucking great.

I suppose if you’re American it would seem like The Fall were actually called Autumn which isn’t necessarily a bad name for a band but it does conjure up open-necked shirts and acoustic guitars rather than lager-soaked Mancunian krautabilly.

Spotting famous actors in Cheers (before they were particularly famous). Part 2 in an occasional series. Walter Olkewicz as Wally Bodell, Norm’s rival for Vera’s affections in 1983. Went on to play Jacques Renault in Twin Peaks 🦉

You know who doesn’t get enough stick? The bastards who get up in the middle of the night for no money to sail out in a storm and see if they can save anyone off a sinking boat. Absolute twats.

Whenever our Billy meets another dog in the street he’s not aggro or anything he just hares off dragging me with him to wherever he thinks that dog last had a leak. Nice to put a smell to a face I guess.

Just finished watching Colin From Accounts 3. Perfect again. The writing is so great and the cast just elevate it to beyond. Quite an achievement to be so sardonic yet so humane at the same time. Plus Colin himself is obviously the cutest little McGuffin in TV history.

Checking out the Booker noms as and when I spot em in the library and I fair flew through this one today. An original and thoughtful page-turner. Possibly helps that I used to arrange museum displays for a living but don’t go thinking that’s a requirement. Definitely a recommend 👍🏼

A 12.30 kick off for Stoke means the London Road is alive with breakfast-time drinkers. Good luck to all concerned but I’m such a goody two shoes nowadays that even immediately post-match will probably feel a bit early for me today. A lot will depend on the result tbh.

I gather Farridge wants to exhume Louis Napoleon now and send him back to France. Surprised he’s not more of a fan considering Nap III volunteered as a special constable in 1848 to break some Chartist heads. Either way I’m not sure it’s the policy the man on the Clacton omnibus is crying out for.
