I am interested in too many things to list. I’ve done a lot of interesting things & will do many more before I shuffle off this mortal coil. Current focuses: home & hearth, creative pursuits, healing my relationship w/food & exercise. She/her

The Voting Rights Act happened because people marched, bled and died for it. We can honor that legacy by defending Black representation, which is being undermined more than any time in recent history. Americans deserve an equal say in government, no matter their race or zip code.

🧵The US no longer meets criteria for measles elimination. Utah's outbreak has lasted for more than a yr. And cases this yr are at a 35-yr high. I talked w/pediatricians treating measles & talking w/parents who don't vaccinate. My latest @wired.com @kffhealthnews.org www.wired.com/story/the-ch...

I think all house listings should have images of the floor plan, and rooms should be labeled on the room photos (could just be numbered with the numbers on the floor plan along with the type of room as well). Also most realtors need much better photographs.

Really feeling the weight of the state of our country and the world, but especially our country, and honestly freaking depressed about everything. I need to find more actions I can take. I need to do more.

Around midnight, Senate Banking Committee Republicans unveiled new crypto legislation. Among other flaws, it will turbocharge the massive conflict of interests posed by Donald Trump and his family's crypto ventures. No bill should move through the Banking Committee without real ethics guardrails.

In 1933, Justice Louis Brandeis said: “We can have democracy in this country or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of the few, but we cannot have both.” What he said was true 93 years ago. It’s even more accurate today. Let us choose democracy over oligarchy.

I'm not a finance journalist so I don't know how this works but I would be interested in learning if there are any groups or pension funds divesting from state/municipal bonds funding projects in Southern states trying to strangle Black political power through redistricting

One way I’m trying to stay sane in this world is by learning new things that are offline, such as crochet. Are you using this approach too? If so, I’d love to hear what you’re learning.

@catsofyore.bsky.social A long time ago in a junk shop I bought a stack of pictures for $1. They were of this fab group of friends in the 60s… They traveled, had holidays, martinis. I treasure them and hope to figure out who they were. among them, is this handsome devil. Thought you might enjoy.

Donald Trump is pressuring Republicans to restrict mail-in voting for everybody else — while he’s sitting at home voting by mail himself? He's literally urging Republicans to withhold TSA agent’s paychecks until they pass his voter suppression bill — the so-called “SAVE America Act”.

President Trump cast a mail ballot in an upcoming Florida special election, according to Palm Beach County records, as he publicly condemns the voting method as fraudulent. nbcnews.to/4taQ8oi

The Constitution clearly gives Congress the power to spend taxpayer funds, and no law allows the president to halt if he feels some US states aren’t being “good stewards” of the money. In case there’s any confusion on this, the Impoundment Control Act forbids it. Taxation without representation.

JD Vance: "We're announcing today that we have decided to temporarily halt certain amounts of Medicaid funding that is going to the state of Minnesota in order to ensure that the state of Minnesota takes its obligations seriously to be good stewards of the American people's tax money."

Elizabeth Warren: "This one is to me not even open or arguable. How would the US government keep money that the Supreme Court said it did not legally collect from American businesses, that it did not legally take away from American families that ultimately paid this?"
