But the kind of rhetoric Powell is using (ed isn't preparing kids for modern economy, pen and paper needs to be replaced by collaborations and presentations) usually presages education policy disaster.
Social care and devo could go wrong but they're not intrinsically bad ideas. Selection at 14 is, however it's implemented. The only thing I'm claiming to know is that early selection leads to inequality, and there's good evidence for that.
As someone who has only worked and trained in academy trust schools, this @teachertapp.bsky.social result makes no sense to me. What do people have against academies? 🥴

You know why the abuse of "staycation" really gets to me? It's the implication that a holiday in the UK isn't a real holiday. The implication that my parents never took my siblings and me on holiday growing up.
