The buck moon is a wild one, they say, with his proud antlers, coated in soft velvet. Do not mistake those long white ears & bushy white tail! Those ears have heard all of your songs & they just make him more wild. Just wait a bit and see how cute they are. GL66 is up! gonelawn.net/journal/issu...

I spoke to an Ingram rep about this and it is, unfortunately, a real thing that they are forcing us all to do. Shit like this shouldn't be "opt out" and if you just happen to miss the notice the machines eat your art 🤬
WRITER FRIENDS: if you distribute books using INGRAM SPARK you *need* to fill out this opt-out form so they don't sell your books to AI corps to rip apart and feed to their machine for training AI.
Finally found the post by the artist who suggested us coloring the background of Gone Lawn (Frederick Highand) — his work's attached here. Just a note: If you have work like this, or videos, send it to us (when we reopen) because we consider it but don't get much. gonelawn.net/journal/issu...

If you're among the few people who still haven't received a response for us for your submission to #66, we haven't forgotten about you, this is just an example of us being tired. We'll get to you soon, honest. In the meantime, everyone read #65! gonelawn.net/journal/issu...

He was once a little green slab of clay . . . Just kidding. This film is on our list of films to see, now!

We've a few weeks until #66, for advent of the buck moon. We have to say we're behind but on top. We have a whole Hel-load of maybes. We accepted a couple yestern. Sometimes it takes a certain freak for something to hit us & say "THIS!" Donate if you can & love the mag. Art in the US is precarious.
or the record, we are opposed to mediocrity and stagnancy in literature. We are not they. They have their castle and their swamp and they defend both with their Academic missiles and their legions of the willing. We do not own a swamp, we own a garden, with strange animals.
I think you can all trust that Gone Lawn will never publish a story containing the sentence, "It beats until the roof talks back in a dry moan." That's what stops us, right there. Also, WE trust that a human will never consciously think of writing such a sentence and then send it to us.
I would never say he should be drawn and quartered for this. That's something I wouldn't say.
you cannot support his work in any way anymore

So many states can foster!
So you know, we do appreciate the wild and out-there submissions that hardly anyone cares for. We rarely accept them for a variety of "it doesn't work" reasons, but we have published such material and we treasure reading the ones we decline . . . . . . . so you know.
Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Guess what? Gone Lawn is open for submissions for #66! gonelawn.net/journal/glj_...

Did you miss it? Well, if you did then here it is, Gone Lawn #65 is up and about! New works by 21 authors, plus cover art by Jacelyn Yap. Submissions reopen on the 14th. gonelawn.net/journal/issu...
The flower moon has many colors, but you must look for them. Choose one and find a stem, pick it free. Care for it where you are. Listen to how the flower sings, Di di di. Sing back to the flower, La la la. Look at the moon, your color is there, too. #65 is live! gonelawn.net/journal/issu...
it’s only safe to teach literature where characters sit perfectly still in separate rooms and don’t speak or think or do anything
'Bell removed Romeo and Juliet from his syllabus because “in Act III, Romeo and Juliet have sex, and that falls under this very broadly defined sexuality [topics ban].” He also didn’t teach about Joan of Arc this semester.' What an actual lack of freedom of speech looks like in universities. 3/3
Note : Please don't email us except with cover art because otherwise we are closed to submissions at the moment. (We will reopen!) 🙂 Not that we don't appreciate your appreciation and submissions. Two final considerations for GL 65 chosen for GL 66, we're happy as hopping parrots to accept them.
Happy invisible Moon, everyone! But it won't stay that way, and in two weeks will come the flower moon and so Gone Lawn 65, so dear it doesn't need to smile to make you smile, even in these times. The handful of submissions we've held on to are being considered for #66.
