It's so deeply frustrating how much AI slop is out there regarding Linux distros. Trying to get perspectives outside of reddit has been maddening. I'm just going to go in on Mint for the easiest transition away from Windows, and explore another distro if I hit into a wall, feature-wise.

I'm gonna give a heads up to anyone who sees this or similar posts deer.social hasn't been maintained for over a year (github.com/a-viv-a/deer...) I personally use and highly recommend witchsky.app if you are looking for a social-app fork

Finally mustered the mental wherewithal to cancel my Humble Bundle Choice monthly subscription instead of pausing every month hoping that maybe someday it'll have more than one game I want.

It's very funny to imagine someone actually getting genuinely worked up over software piracy, which, reminder, actually improves sales in many cases for games

Another factor not often discussed when bringing up physical games media (and the risk of departure thereof) is the matter of privacy. An always online approach means some entity - an individual, business, something or someone - is going to know what you're playing, when, and how at all times.

In light of today's Sony news regarding discontinuation of physical media... the fear of this exact business direction coming to pass has been one of the primary motivating factors for me collecting physical media and DRM-free digital media as often as I can for the games that I care about.
