Zootropolis 2 is actually better than the first and that's no mean feat. Really great jokes, some genuinely laugh out loud moments, great character designs, Ke Guy Quan, great animation.

Watching Buffy again and just feeling big :(. Didn't think I'd cry about Anthony Head but then I watched Lie To Me and, oof it just hits hard. I mean that's already a fucking solid top ten episode.

So I'm cat sitting for my sister. I don't understand why or how but there's a way sound is like, carrying in her living room that makes SOMETHING sound like breathing/snoring and it is really throwing me off. The cat is upstairs and does not snore. It really sounds like breathing, gasping even.

Decided to watch Return to Silent Hill and I'm not very far in but it also has made so many baffling decisions. Gans didn't want a straight adaption he wanted to tell his own story. In theory, that's okay. Except he is a terrible, terrible writer.

I don't think I'll ever get tired of seeing things spoof the intro of Ghost Adventures, it never gets old.

Finally getting round to watching Evil after hearing some good things and I've gotta say, having a heroine say "oh boy do you have that right" in response to being called a bitch is A SURE way to my heart. It's also shot well. Not quite up there with Hannibal, Legion or Channel Zero yet, but, good.

Something I hadn't quite appreciated, even as much as I ended up disliking it, and not really surprising considering Akira Yamaoka is insanely talented, but the Silent Hill 2 remake soundtrack is great.

Sitting at my desk is still a novel concept but I'm really happy with it. It's a hand me down from my granny. Probably around a hundred years old and she used it and so did my mum.

Gotta say, now I'm sitting down with my Fangoria and properly reading them I'm super excited about all the different topics and articles I've been reading. One of a few things that actually features films I managed to miss like Frank and Zed, which is so ridiculously up my street.

the discourse is wild, man. bluesky is like the least horny place on the entire internet, then one director was like "I cut nude scenes out of my sex movie" and INSTANTLY everyone demanded nudity. and frankly I'm here for it. let's see it all hanging out, baby. for art. respectfully of course.

And I've got a migraine right now, so that's cool and good.

Realising that my extreme reaction to heat, to the point that anything over 23 degrees has me faint, including hot showers and that it isn't normal as reactions go is just another one of those "oh cool that's something I'll need to get diagnosed at some point" moments.

Watched Dust Bunny today and really enjoyed it but then Bryan Fuller is swiftly becoming one of my favourite directors and Mads Mikkelsen is such a fab actor. It was the perfect length, not too long not too short, and had some great visual designs and costumes.

Reading this article in Fangoria from 6 years ago that states "[...] Since Mary Lou's last outing, the genre still woefully has struggled to create a female fright icon with continued franchise potential." Which is just so woefully incorrect I don't know where to begin.

Just had an advert for Conde Nast on a video I was going to watch, and, I am not going to watch that video anymore. A really weird weaponisation of "WE dropped the Weinstein story" and "WE curated accountability" and, honestly, that's kind of just, gross lol.

The Creep Tapes is solidly done and I'm enjoying it hugely. Mark Duplass just absolutely nails his performance. And I think it works because any time it might get repetitive (ie to the point we know what the formula is, which we do) it changes it up.

To enter with heart and mind into the world of the imagination may be to head deliberately and directly toward, or back toward, engagement with the real world.

Anyway my sleeping pattern is terrible. I got up, organised my article, despaired at it a little bit, and did a little art and reorganisation. Pixel art is happening slowly but I'm getting there.

Found some oolong I'd not finished and had a brew and good God I do not understand how leaves can taste creamy it is magic. Got a little bit left and my favourite steep is usually the third. I have become a Drinks Snob.
