Oh how lovely to seen Amelia. Fun fact, when I was 6 we had a runt of the litter piglet named Amelia. She was Arnold's sister IYKYK. We kept her in our old playpen but she escaped. Eventually she went to a farm close by and we'd visit her on Sunday after Church. She had a good life!

After World War 1, railways cut through farmland and small towns. American Landscape (1920) frames the incisions of modernity. Tracks slice through fields as wandering cattle are forced to adapt to industrial infrastructure.

Historian of wine & climate here maybe they are planting Syrah because it is getting too hot for Cabernet to shine. This is happening in Bordeaux. Also wine consumer's tastes have changed so rather then regional expression it is consumer demand.

Cabernet has led Washington State for decades. Syrah, planted here just 40 years ago, is closing the gap fast. No strict rulebook means winemakers can let it express pure regional character🍷 www.decanter.com/wine/washing...

This is a restaurant where you can enjoy traditional dining style in #Kyoto. This is done only during the summer. I enjoyed sukiyaki on a riverside platform in Kifune, Kyoto! This is a traditional summer dining experience called Kawadoko, where you eat over a flowing stream to stay cool. [con't]πŸ‘‡πŸ½

In addition to being important for scientists & conservationists (which is what this position paper πŸ‘‡ is about), natural history museum collections are critical for public understanding of biodiversity & why we should conserve it. My book Ghosts Behind Glass explores such collections on display.
